Story
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Cane #2 finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   Cane #2 | 2-Year-Old Poodle Mix | Playful and Full of Personality Cane is an energetic and affectionate 2-year-old Poodle mix with a heart as big as his personality. This sweet boy is nearly house-trained, enjoys walks, and thrives on love, attention, and treats. Cane is playful, friendly, and loves cuddling—he’s the kind of pup who will happily show his belly for rubs and prance around the room when he’s excited. He even has a little “dance” that is sure to make you smile! Cane gets along wonderfully with other dogs and would be happiest in a home where he has a canine companion to play with. While he hasn’t met cats or kids yet, he has a gentle and affectionate nature that suggests he could adapt well with proper introductions. He’s food-motivated, responds well to love and attention, and already knows basic commands like come, stay, no, and off. This little guy would do best in a home where someone is around for most of the day, whether working from home or retired. Cane loves being part of the action and will thrive with a family that can give him the attention he craves. While he can be a little mouthy during play, he takes treats gently and is eager to learn and please. Cane came to us as a stray, and now he’s ready to find a forever home where he can share his playful energy, cuddles, and endless charm with a loving family.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $500. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls. PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member! Story
Meet Hanes and Her Undercover Crew! When it comes to comfort, style, and unconditional love, no one does it better than Hanes — our devoted momma dog with a heart as soft as cotton and a spirit that stretches to fit every situation. She’s raised six snug-as-a-bug pups who are ready to slip into your life and never ride up. Hanes is a great little momma and a sweet heart herself. She is about 20 lbs, so a perfect size, not too big and not too small.  Hanes will be ready for her forever homes when her puppies are weaned and she is able to be spayed, estimated about December 13. Hanes can be pre-adopted in advance if you want to get dibs on her. If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2555653##

Story
Mitzi is a 7-month-old, 7.4lb Silky Terrier miracle who survived being discarded due to a treatable heart defect. After successful PDA surgery in September, she’s healed beautifully and thriving. Mitzi is playful, affectionate, incredibly intelligent, and absolutely adores other small dogs—she must have a playful canine companion in her forever home. She’s doing wonderfully with her potty training, loves enrichment toys, snuggles on tummies at night, gives joyful morning kisses, and brings laughter to every corner of the house. Mitzi is gentle, sweet, expressive, curious, and happiest when she’s exploring life right alongside the people (and dog friends!) she loves. She needs a calm home with lots of inclusion, love, and another dog who matches her spirited play. *** Go to www.pawsitiverestorations.com to learn all about our dogs, watch their silly videos, read our adoption process, and to submit an adoption application. Inquiries made on this site will not be seen! Visiting our website will answer all of your questions. Thank you! 🐶🐾
