Please contact Jamesa (roxysrescue@yahoo.com), 713-882-2610 for more information about this pet. This pretty girl is SAMANTHA, a Yorkie mix but not sure what she is mixed with.  She has a beautiful golden coat that is soft and she is a non-shedder. I am happy to see SAMANTHA running around playing and just having fun with her best play pal DORY.  But SAMANTHA can be a velcro dog as she loves to follow me around and just be close but does not get in my way. SAMANTHA had an owner who wanted to surrender her to our very high kill shelter and when the shelter did not have any room, they simply put her on the streets of San Antonio, TX.  She is just too sweet for that and would not have survived trying to care for herself. She tends to be a little submissive and easily rounds over on her back for belly rubs.  She does well with baths and grooming. SAMANTHA is 3 years old and weighs 12 pounds, walks well on a leash, she does not get car sick and does not jump all over the seats like some dogs do, she stays in her place and looks out the window. If you would like to adopt SAMANTHA please submit an application on the website below.  Thank you. www.roxysk9rescue.org     ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIRED   Roxxy's K-9 Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes.  Each dog comes  spay/neutered (fixed), rabies shots appropriate for their age, and dewormed twice.  The dogs are up to date on vaccinations according to their age at the time of adoption.  They are microchipped, heartworm tested and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative.  ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE. We transport across the United States. Medical records will come with each dog at the time of adoption. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Well the time has come! Our super sweet seniors are ready for their forever home. These two little ones are local dogs who needed rescue after their previous owner passed away. No family members were able to take them in, and they were left behind, alone, in the home. Someone was coming in once a day to feed them but that was just about. A rescue friend heard about them and reached out to us, asking if anyone could help. How could we possibly say no? Izzy and Tootsie have been together their entire life and will remain together in their final forever home. We know that adopting two dogs is always tougher, and being two seniors will make it even harder. But we don’t mind. We always stand behind our dogs and do the right thing for them. We know that the right home is out there for them. I mean after all look at them! They are pure love.  Not to mention, this is WNY! We always come through for the senior dogs!    A little bit about Tootie. Toots is a 4.12 pound miniature yorkie. She is about 12/13 years old. She is the elder of the two but def doesn’t always act that way. She is demanding and will let you know what she wants. But let’s be honest, after living alone for at least a month, we would all be a little demanding when it comes to attention. She likes to know where you in the house at all times. Tootsie has no teeth, and is missing part of her bottom jaw. Part of it has worn away due to her age. The lack of teeth and bottom jaw has not slowed down her love of food. She does eat soft food from a bowl that has a small lip on it. This makes it easier for her to pick up. Tootsie had a full work up at the vet, including bloodwork. All of which came back normal. So besides being a senior, with possible senior needs, her overall health is great. No heart or organ issues at this time. Most of her day, Tootsie is found sleeping in her bed, curled up with a blanket next to her brother. But when it comes to her foster family, Tootsie is beyond excited to see them come home. She hops up and down and barks excitedly. Her little nub of a tail wags so fast. She loves her people. Tootsie will go outside to potty. Even in the recent wind storm she went out. Tootsie will use a potty pad as well. Her foster family tends to leave one out for her overnight in case it’s needed. It goes right in front of Tootsies bed. We all about convience for our little lady. Tootsie does struggle with walking on hard wood or uncarpeted floors. She has figured out a way to manage though. No worries about her    And now of Izzy. This boy is something special. He is all about the kisses. If you don’t like doggie kisses, he is not for you. The second you hold him, Izzy starts with the kisses. He has a little more spunk than Tootsie. He is approximately 7 pounds and is 11/12 years old. Izzy tends to prance all around the house. There are days that he seems to have some issues with his back legs, nothing a pain pill won’t take care of though. Izzy was not neutered when he first arrived. Before the neuter he also had a full work up at the vet. His bloodwork came back excellent as well. Izzy also has no teeth and is missing part of his bottom jaw. But again, eating is not a problem. In fact he prefers to have some kibble mixed in his food. Since Izzy was neutered until recently, he will make when he first comes into a new home. Good news is, Izzy is very happy to wear a diaper. After the first couple weeks, Izzy does not need to wear it anymore. The marking stops and you just need to be consistent on letting him out. Izzy does have hair loss. We are not sure why, because all his blood levels were normal. Most likely due to stress, or poor nutrition. Izzy sleeps very well overnight, right next to his sister. Izzy is also leash trained and will go on short walks.    Both dogs are great in the car. They are content to lay in their bed right next to you or in the back seat. They get along well with other dogs. They tend to ignore them and stick together. They did live with small children for a short period of time and did well. We do think a quieter home with older children would be best. Also they are very vocal initially, an apartment may not be the best setting for them. If you think you have room for two very sweet and loving small seniors, make sure you apply today. You won’t be disappointed in the love they give you in return.  Both dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and tested neg. for heartworm.  Their adoption fee is $350 for BOTH dogs - they will be adopted together. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 31, 2025, 10:28 am
