Story
Say Hello to Apple! This dark and mysterious girl is the definition of small, but mighty- you guessed it- a lot of sass and a lot of sweet packed into 5 lbs of gorgeous fluff. Coming from a defunct breeding turned hoarding situation, Apple spent the first years of her life not really knowing what it meant to be loved and cared for by a person. Because of this she can be slow to trust and warm up- however, once she does, she will steal your heart. If cuddles and kisses are your jam, then this girl might be the one for you. She loves her fur foster siblings and thrives in a setting with other small dogs she can play with and learn from. Apple will do best in a home with someone who understands that she will need a calm, quiet home with a family willing to have patience to give her the time to gain trust and confidence in her new setting. Best in a home with kids 16+ and only smaller dogs. We think Apple is just under 2 years old. Based on the information we know from the hoarding situation we believe she may be a Yorki-Cairn Terrier Mix Apple has an adoption fee of $275. She has been fully vaccinated, microchipped, spayed and is up to date on prevention. If you think that you are a good fit for Apple, please apply today! Please note that we are a completely volunteer run organization and may take 48 hours to respond. Please make sure to fully complete your application. If responses are not complete, you may not be contacted due to the volume of applications. We can only set up meet and greets once an application has been approved. Thank you for understanding. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Opal is a petite, sweet little lap dog who is still learning that the world—and her people—are safe. She is making steady progress every day and will do best in a calm, patient home that understands some dogs need time to fully trust. Opal absolutely thrives with other small dogs and must have a small canine companion in her forever home. She follows her foster’s pack outside, plays nicely with other small dogs, and clearly gains confidence from being around them. She’s a total lap dog at heart—once she feels comfortable. Opal loves belly rubs, especially from visitors, and happily rolls over for attention. She’s social with company, runs right up to greet guests, and enjoys being doted on. She’s also food-motivated, which will be helpful as she continues her training. Opal is pad trained and working on house training, walks on a leash but would benefit from continued practice, and sleeps soundly in her small dog bed at night. That said, Opal is still building trust with her primary caregiver and can be protective of her space while she settles in. Because of this, she is looking for a home with no children under the age of 10 and an adopter who is patient, experienced, and willing to let her move at her own pace. Each day she becomes more comfortable and confident, and her foster has already seen positive changes. With the right environment, another small dog by her side, and a gentle, understanding owner, Opal has all the makings of a loving, loyal companion. If you’re looking for a little shadow who just needs time, kindness, and consistency, Opal may be the perfect match.    Medical Notes: Spayed Vaccinated Dewormed Microchipped Heartworm Negative Maintained on monthly preventatives Groomed  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 21, 2025, 11:34 am
