Meet Madison. She is an eleven year old, six point four pound Yorkshire Terrier with the soul of a devoted lap companion. She has never met a stranger in her life. She welcomes every human with trust and joy. Her dream day is simple. She wants soft hands, a warm lap, and a person who enjoys her gentle company. Madison came to rescue after her owner passed away. A kind family member took her in for a short time but their own health needs made a long term arrangement impossible. She has lived her whole life beside Maggie but she is not dependent on her. What she wants most is stability, comfort, and love. Madison is quiet, sweet, and steady. She gets along well with other dogs and she brings a peaceful presence into any room. Her perfect retirement home is calm, loving, and ready for a small companion who will adore you every moment you are near. I’m looking for my forever family! Is that with you? Current Location: Midlothian, VA Hello! My name is Jester! I'm coming to OPH on 12/5. Please check back soon for updates on my personality, and to see adorable new photos. I'm searching for... * someone who won't leave me home alone for more than 4 hrs, at least not until I am older. The older I am the more I can stay home alone. I just don't want you to get mad at me if I have accidents or chew things I'm not supposed to when you leave me for too long. I'm a puppy, so I get bored quick and when I'm bored I could get in trouble. * I am looking for my forever home, not my for right now home. So as I get bigger I need someone to teach me how to be the best dog I can be. I am young and still learning. You may want to teach me some new tricks like sit, stay, etc. Professional training will help me bond with you. That sounds like fun! * I saved the most important for last. I am hoping my new mom or dad will snuggle with me, play with me and love me forever and ever! I'm making my way north in search of my new family. Is that with you? She is gentle, affectionate, and happy to be wherever her person is. She struggles with stairs because of her size, but she does not mind being picked up and carried. She enjoys spending time in your lap, but she never demands it. If you choose not to lift her up, she settles at your feet with contentment. Maggie arrived in rescue after her owner passed away. She has lived her life beside Madison, though they are not bonded. She gets along beautifully with other dogs and she enjoys quiet routines. She wants a safe, loving place where she can relax and feel secure. Maggie is an easy companion. She is tiny, sweet, and grateful for gentle care.
