She needs a quiet home, no young children, where she can live out her years.  Abby is 10 years old and weighs about 8 pounds.  Help this sweet senior girl find her forever home.  **BECAUSE OF OUR REQUIREMENT FOR A HOME VISIT, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO ADOPT TO HOMES IN THE NORTHERN VA / MARYLAND / DC METRO AREA** We have adoption events EVERY SATURDAY from 12-3 p.m. Please note that not all dogs can attend every event, so if you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please complete a no-obligation application on our website at http://www.muttloverescue.org/application.html OR write to adopt@muttloverescue.org. Cocoa Poodle mix Female Apricot 11 months old 9 lbs Meet Cocoa! Cocoa is a delightful blend of puppy-like joy and mature good manners. She greets her favorite people with bright enthusiasm and a happily wagging tail, always ready to make you feel welcomed and loved. Playful and social, Cocoa enjoys romping with other dogs, but she’s just as capable of entertaining herself when her friends need a break. When the adventures are over, she’s perfectly content curling up beside you on the couch for some quiet companionship. She can be a bit startled by unexpected noises and may respond with a few barks, and she tends to be cautious around new people. With a little patience and reassurance, she learns to settle and feel safe, though she may need gentle redirection from time to time. Cocoa would make a wonderful addition to the right family. Poppi’s elderly owners both passed away. Their caretaker had agreed with his owner to care for Poppi until he passed, but she gave him up instead. Poppi enjoys long walks despite being a senior. He just wants to be with his humans, but also loves his foster sister Sophie, a rambunctious pup. He knows the resident kitty is about his size so he just leaves her be. Poppi is housetraind and enjoys hanging out in his crate if the door is left open.  He came to us with very bad teeth and required a major dental. Now that is healing, he is a lot happier.
