Story
Meet Maggie & Jax – A Sweet Senior Duo Looking for Their Forever Maggie and Jax are a devoted, bonded pair with a story that tugs at the heart. These two were found as strays, huddled together under a picnic table at a remote campground in northern Missouri. Luckily, a kind-hearted couple who are full-time RVers noticed them while passing through. They took Maggie and Jax in, bathed them, treated them for fleas, kept them warm, and gave them the love and safety they so desperately needed. While searching for help, they found our rescue—where Maggie and Jax could receive proper care and, most importantly, a chance at a forever home. Our veterinarian estimates Maggie to be about 9 years old and Jax about 10 years old. Both have since been spayed/neutered, microchipped, and are fully up to date on vaccinations. Due to neglect in their earlier years, each has only a few teeth left—but don’t let that fool you! These two are enthusiastic eaters and have absolutely no trouble enjoying their meals. Jax appears to be mostly Chihuahua, while tiny Maggie (just 9 pounds) likely has some Yorkie in her lineage. They currently live peacefully with their seven dachshund foster siblings and get along wonderfully. They are housebroken with regular potty breaks, have learned to use a doggy door, and will also use potty pads when needed. Maggie and Jax sleep comfortably in their crate overnight and do well crated for short periods when their foster parents are away. These two must be adopted together—they are truly inseparable. Jax takes his role as Maggie’s loyal protector very seriously, and the bond they share is both touching and unmistakable. Maggie and Jax are being fostered near St. Clair, MO. Their adoption fee is $300 for the pair. If you’re looking for a gentle, loving senior duo who will bring warmth, gratitude, and companionship into your life, Maggie and Jax may be the perfect match. Please submit your application to give these deserving sweethearts the forever home they’ve been waiting for. ❤️

Story
Louis is a 12 pound, 10-year-old Yorkshire Terrier who came to us after his owner passed, and it’s clear he was well-loved. Louis is a perfect little gentleman who likes people from newborns and up, and is dog friendly too! He backs off if given a couple of warnings from another dog, and is not possessive around his food bowl. Louis has not been cat tested yet.    Although he is 10, he has the spryness of a much younger dog. He has no issues whatsoever with running up stairs, jumping onto beds, or chasing a tennis ball about a hundred times. He is not a yappy dog, although he will break his silence to guard the house if there’s a suspicious bump in the night (not every night, genuinely only for sounds that startle him awake) or a bird trying to perch on your house (they are allowed in the trees - he has his standards).   He may be surprisingly athletic, but he is delightfully cuddly as well, and once he gets used to you he may even ask for a belly rubs. Being the gentleman that he is, Louis  likes sleeping in a bed with you, but politely curls up by the foot of the bed to stay out of the way.    Louis is currently sporting a shorter hairstyle due to some matting he had in his fur, but that just proves to us that he’ll look dapper in whatever hairstyle you put him in. Despite the haircut being long and likely uncomfortable at times, he was a paradigm of patience, making not a peep of protest.   Louis may be just about perfect, but he is currently still working on: Signaling to go outside, which is common for dogs switching environments  Not stealing easily-snatched snacks (he may love children, but he also loves the way they accidentally hold chicken nuggets at eye level to him, who can blame him?) Louis loves: People Playing fetch (if you get bored of it, he’ll play fetch with himself by rolling it off the edge of a bed or couch and then chasing it) Toys of all types Curling up as close to you as he can If you’re looking for an easy going, delightful little dog who just needs someone to love, Louis is your guy! If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Louis’s adoption fee is $295.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter. Story
Charlie is a sweet 3-year-old guy who just needs a little time and patience to feel safe with new people. Once he trusts you, he becomes the most loyal companion—your shadow, your buddy, and your biggest fan. He’ll gladly follow you everywhere with his gentle devotion. Charlie is doing great with his potty training and loves spending time in a fenced yard, especially if there are squirrels to chase! He rides well in the car and would do fine either as the only dog or with another calm canine friend. He’s still working on his leash-walking skills and hasn’t shown interest in toys, but he makes up for it with his affectionate nature. Because he can be a barker, Charlie would not be a good fit for apartment living. He also needs a home without small children. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will love you deeply once he feels safe, Charlie might be the perfect match. All he needs is someone willing to give him the time and space to flourish. Charlie is neutered, up to date on Rabies, DHPP, and heart worm test, he is also dewormed and microchipped. Charlie’s adoption fee is $375.00
