Yorkie fun facts

Fun Facts:

Named after the English county where they were created, the Yorkshire Terrier is a mixture of breeds, including the English Black-and-Tan Terrier.

In the early 1800s, Yorkies were used not only as household and cotton mill vermin catchers but also in organized, public rat-catching sporting events.

When the popularity of Miniature and Toy Poodles declined in the 1960s, the Yorkshire Terrier stepped in as the new fashion dog thanks in some part to Audrey Hepburn and her pooch, Mr. Famous, who had a cameo in her film "Funny Face."
