Hi, I’m Squirtle, and before you ask, yes, I’m 9 years old… and no, that doesn’t mean anything to me. I wake up every day ready for adventure. Age? Never heard of it. I run, play, and explore like the world is brand new, because as far as I’m concerned, it is. I’ve got energy to spare and confidence in unlimited supply. I get along great with other dogs, cats, and pretty much anyone who understands that I’m a big deal. I don’t see size—I see potential friends and playmates. If I like you, you’re in my pack. Simple as that. I may look small to you, but I don’t feel small. I walk like I own the place, because honestly, I kind of do. I’ve got a big heart, a bold spirit, and absolutely no idea that I’m supposed to be anything less than mighty. Nine years in, still unstoppable. That’s me. I’m Squirtle.

Pepita was born around April 17, 2024 and weighs about 10 pounds.  Pepita is a gentle soul looking for her sunshine. While her past was a bit isolated, she is officially ready to sprout her wings! This sweet girl is a champion car rider and a total delight to have around. Though she’s still a little 'hand-shy' when it comes to being picked up, she’ll tell you she’s happy with a full-body wiggle and a wagging tail whenever you speak to her. Because she’s a sensitive soul, she’d prefer a home without tiny kiddos, though respectful older children would be wonderful. She’s been a friend to every dog she’s met and couldn't care less about cats! Pepita is a work in progress with potty training. Since her past life didn't offer much guidance, she’ll need a patient human to show her the ropes. We recommend potty pads to help this pint-sized pup succeed! The Adoption Fee for this dog is $600.00 Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.    Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES   We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list.
