Story
Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue: 05/08/2025 Reason for being in rescue: Gabby was surrendered by her owners to a rural NC shelter. Carolina Poodle Rescue pulled her from the shelter. Foster location: Foster Home in Rocky Mount, NC Special Needs? Gabby is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 06/27/25 Gabby had a dental polishing. During her spay surgery she also had 2 inguinal hernias removed. Weight: 6 lbs Height: 9 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $400 Fence needed? No What kind of home would be best for me? Gabby is a dog that lives life on her terms. Is she cute - absolutely. Does she know it - undoubtedly. Will she make you work for it - every day! Gabby is looking for a home where the food is plenty and the beds are cozy. If you're looking for a dog that wants to be on our near you all the time, this is not your girl. She has a fiercely independent spirit. Gabby has always lived with other dogs but could honestly care less. She is all about those soft beds. She totally understands if you work outside the home - she'll be ready for some love when you get home. Kids could be okay, but only if they are older and will respect her boundaries. What is my personality like? Meet Gabby — a beautiful little Yorkie queen who lives life strictly on her terms. Gabby is a certified snack hoarder - stashing treats like she's prepping for a long winter (even though dinner is definitely coming). Sharing - Not her thing. She's got boundaries, okay! Gabby is an independent sort of gal who lets foster mom do her thing while she does hers — usually from the comfort of one (or two) soft, cozy beds. Gabby enjoys attention… but only when she asks for it. Until then, she’s happily ruling her little kingdom in peace. How do I act when I first meet new people? Gabby can be a little aloof. It isn't that she minds, it just depends on her mood. She's a little diva in training! Other tips and tidbits: Gabby is estimated at 9 years old. We celebrate her birthday 05/08/2016. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. November 3, 2025, 7:25 am

Owner is becoming homeless and wants Sprocket to have a good home. Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Sprocket is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Weight: 20 lbs (est) Height: 14 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $425 Fence needed? No, but he would enjoy one. Sprocket has a lot of energy to burn off and loves to play outside! What kind of home would be best for me? Are you looking for a dog that is constantly on the go. A small dog that could and would hike for miles? Here's Sprocket! Sprocket’s perfect home will be one that values his spirited personality and can provide structure, exercise, and plenty of time for fun. He’s the kind of dog who will fill your life with laughter and movement — a goofball with a heart of gold who loves nothing more than to make his people happy. Though we think Sprocket would be happiest as the only dog in the home (where he can soak up all the love and toys for himself), he has shown that he can get along well with larger dogs who respect his personality and space. He loves to run alongside them and try to initiate play — and we’re fairly certain he believes he’s a 60-pound dog trapped in a smaller body. In personality, he definitely is! Sprocket absolutely enjoys spending time outdoors. Whether it’s chasing after toys in the yard, going for long walks, or joining you on a hike, he’s happiest when he’s moving. An active home — one that loves to get outside and play — would be ideal for him. He would make an excellent adventure buddy for someone who enjoys daily activity and wants a dog who will match their energy stride for stride. What is my personality like? Get ready to laugh, play, and stay on your toes — because Sprocket is pure, joyful motion in dog form! This lively terrier mix is bursting with personality, enthusiasm, and love for life. Everything he does, he does at full throttle — whether it’s chasing tennis balls, zooming around the yard, or leaning into you for affection. Sprocket is the definition of “go big or go home,” and he’s looking for a family who’s ready to join in the fun. Sprocket is 100% terrier through and through — clever, confident, and always looking for action. He LOVES to play fetch, and though he’s still perfecting the “return” part of the game, he makes up for it with enthusiasm and effort. His tennis ball is his prized possession, and he takes great pride in keeping it safe. Because of that, he’ll do best in a home where his love of toys is respected — and where there’s an abundance of them to keep him happy and entertained. While Sprocket’s playful nature and sense of humor are what make him shine, he also has a deeply affectionate, people-loving side. He craves attention and thrives on praise — tell him he’s a good boy and his whole face lights up! He’s eager to please and loves having a job to do, even if that job is simply making you smile. Treats are his greatest motivator, and he’s more than willing to show off his best “sit” or silly spin if it means earning a tasty reward. If you’re looking for a companion who will make every day brighter, keep you active, and remind you to find joy in the little things (like a good game of fetch), Sprocket is your guy. With his wagging tail, endless enthusiasm, and big terrier heart, he’s ready to run headfirst into his next adventure — hopefully with you! How do I act when I first meet new people? Sprocket can be a bit protective of his space, and when meeting new people, he may bark a little if you enter his "territory." However, once he’s away from his crate, he’s friendly, outgoing, and quick to warm up to you. With a little patience, you’ll quickly see his affectionate and playful side. Other tips and tidbits: Sprocket was originally found as a stray back in 2022. At the time, it was estimated he was 3ish years old. We celebrate Sprocket's birthday 11/6/2019. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog potty trained in my home may not be in yours. Story
We received a call that there was a stray yorkie hanging out behind the Burger King for the last 6 days, and it was getting cold!! So we said we would take the dog, and she was pregnant. 1 week later she had 4 little munchkins. Mom is a 13 lb yorkie (pic in last photo) and Dad is unknown. We are waiting on DNA results...how exciting! Our best guess is yorkie Cav mix but we will see. We are assuming they will be on the small size. Current weigh in at 6 weeks is 4 lbs. Pups have been super socialized and happy, playful boys. Pups will be 8 weeks Christmas day. We are now taking applications to get homes lined up. You can find an application here: https://docs.google.com/forms/u/0/d/e/1FAIpQLSdWtxWuR5Zi9Ov6LGXHJYchh9R9y3B5F2iknErKpclBcPVyrg/viewform?usp=send_form&pli=1&authuser=0
