Meet Bella — The Sweetest Little Companion Bella is a precious 7-lb Yorkie mix estimated to be between 8–10 years old. This tiny girl recently lost her mama, and now she’s looking for a loving home where she can feel safe, cherished, and adored again. Bella is everything you’d want in a companion dog. She walks beautifully on a leash, loves to be social, and is happiest snuggled up in a warm lap. If you’re looking for a gentle, cuddly friend to share your days and quiet moments with, Bella is your girl. She is fully vetted, spayed, up-to-date on vaccines and preventions, and heartworm negative. Bella also recently had a dental cleaning and had a few mammary tumors removed—she’s feeling so much better and ready for her new beginning. Bella deserves a soft landing and a heart to call her own. She is 14 yrs old and weighs about 14 lbs. Her family was having trouble keeping up with her health care and surrendered her to a very caring vet hospital. The hospital took care of Bella's issues and got her back on her thyroid medications and in shape to come to foster care in SCMR.She is a great little girl who lets her foster mom know when she needs to go out. Bella gets along with the other dogs in the home. Bella is a good eater and takes her meds easily. She likes a nice soft place to nap, sleeps in the big bed at night and loves to be cuddled!Bella is being fostered in Hickory, NC.Adoption fee: $125.00 Out-of-state adoptions are possible; however, the approved adoptive home is responsible for making the necessary arrangements to pick up their new little one.  To be considered to adopt me, please fill out an APPLICATION.  NOTE: SCMR does not adopt to homes with children under the age of 10 years or homes with Electric Fences. Please read the entire bio for this rescue, it will provide all the information that one needs to decide if they would like to apply to adopt from SCMR.Adoption fee: $125.00   Crouton is 13 years old and weighs 17.5 pounds, he is not overweight, he is just a big boy!  We are not sure what breed he is, his DNA test say he is 51% Maltese, but his foster Mom wonders about those results!  He is house trained, he may have an accident occasionally, but if taken outside regularly, he will be fine!   He is not one to 'snuggle', but he does want to be close to his human, he will follow his people around the home, and he loves to sleep in the bed with his family.  He even 'begs' to be helped into the bed!   Crouton does have a few things going on, he has some cysts on his back, but because of his age and how many there are, we are not going to have them removed.  His veterinarian fees certain they are benign.  And it is obvious that he has had chronic ear infections in the past that were not treated, and because of the scaring now in his ears, he will always need maintenance for them.  Meaning to make sure they are cleaned on a regularly basis.  And he also has had yeast skin infections, so he may need the occasional medicated bath.  He also has either some arthritis or a weakness in his hips, but he doesn't seem to be to bothered by it, he uses doggies steps to get on the couch, which works great.  He is also partially deaf, he can hear very loud sounds, but for the normal level talking he is not able to hear.  He responds to hand signals very well, and he can also see really good.   Crouton is waiting for his forever home in Gainesville, FL, please consider him as a possible new member of your family!   Adoption fee: $125.00 Out-of-state adoptions are possible; however, the approved adoptive home is responsible for making the necessary arrangements to pick up their new little one.  To be considered to adopt me, please fill out an APPLICATION.  NOTE: SCMR does not adopt to homes with children under the age of 10 years or homes with Electric Fences. Please read the entire bio for this rescue, it will provide all the information that one needs to decide if they would like to apply to adopt from SCMR.Simon & Mia   This little bonded Maltese pair are in need of Sponsor Angels. They can not be separated. SCMR will care for them as long as they need us.    Mia is 10 years old and weighs only 5.6 pounds. She has a 6/6 heart murmur  and mitral valve disease with left ventricular enlargement which makes anesthesia very dangerous, if not impractical, for any procedures she needs such as a dental for her advanced dental disease. She also has high blood pressure.   Simon is 7 years old and 10.6 pounds. He has hip dysplasia and severe luxating patellas. Also he has advanced dental disease and a mast cell tumor on his side. He will be closely monitored for signs of pain and decreased mobility.   Please help us make life as easy and painless as possible for these two by making a tax deductible donation as a Sponsor Angel.
