Story
Meet Misa, the Abyssinian mix. Misa arrived at the Shelter with her two kitty friends Gustavo and Mira after their prior guardian was experiencing an emergency move. Misa lived in a home with children under 12, teens, men and women. Her favorite activities are sleeping in the sun and playing with toys (primarily lasers, jingle toys and toy mice). Misa used the litterbox reliably in his previous home. She was an indoor-outdoor cat and may enjoy a similar set up in her next home after a transition period and thoughtful acclimation. Along with her two kitty friends, Misa also lived with a bearded dragon and two cat-savvy dogs and coexisted nicely with them. Misa could be adopted with her two friends Mira and Gustavo but is not required to be. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.

Story
Puma is a quiet beauty with soulful blue eyes, snow-white feet, and a short, soft coat that hints at her Siamese heritage. At 10½ years old, she has known deep love—and deep loss. Her first two owners adored her, but both sadly passed away, leaving this tender-hearted girl in search of one more forever home. Puma isn't asking for much—just a calm, loving space to rest her head, a soft lap to curl up in, and a kind human who understands the quiet power of companionship. She thrives on cozy bed snuggles, gentle tummy rubs, and the bliss of a good head scratch. She doesn't need constant activity—just your presence, your warmth, and a little patience as she settles into her next chapter. Puma would do best as the only cat in your heart and home, where she can feel safe and loved again. A mellow dog might be okay with a slow introduction, but she truly shines in peaceful surroundings.
