FELV does affect their immune system, but it doesn’t stop them from being the playful, affectionate cats they’ve always been. FELV is not contagious to humans or other pets (except for cats), so they’d do best in a home with either no other cats or one that already understands the dynamics of living with FELV-positive cats. Adopting FELV+ cats requires some extra attention to their health, but with the right care and guidance from your vet, Mantis and Rocket can live happy, fulfilling lives.
