Story
Gorgeous gal Birch is ready for her forever home! This 6-year-old Sealpoint Siamese is a very sweet and gentle cat who craves as much attention as she can get—she loves rolling over for belly rubs, cuddling with her humans, and sleeping in your bed at night. She also loves to play, especially with toy mice and feather toys. (She's not a jumper though, so your shelves are safe!) While Birch has not lived with other cats, she would likely do well with a feline companion due to her social nature. She sometimes gets a burst of energy around 5am (she doesn't realize this is when humans sleep!), but an automatic feeder or another cat should work as a distraction. Birch is also a great traveler and does well in planes and cars. Birch was originally adopted from PAWS back in 2021 and was previously found as a stray. Unfortunately, her family has had to make the heartbreaking decision to find her a new home due to worsening allergies. Birch has been so loved by her family, and they know that her next humans will be just as lucky to have her in their lives! Age: 6 years Animal ID#:  A48888 &#226&#128&#139I am not at the shelter. PAWS is the city's largest rescue partner and provider of low-cost, basic veterinary care. Through our adoption locations, special events, and network of foster homes, PAWS finds loving homes for thousands of animals every year. PAWS is working to make Philadelphia a no-kill city where every healthy and treatable pet is guaranteed a home.  Please visit  www.phillypaws.org  for more information on adopting, fostering, volunteering, or donating.   June 28, 2025, 8:49 pm

Story
We found her outside our home and later that night listed her on our neighborhood page to see if she was lost. This gorgeous cat wasn’t missing but eventually we found out was pregnant. She had a litter of five adorable kittens. Unfortunately, we couldn’t keep any of them. We successfully adopted out four of them. Laila was neutered and received all her shots in June 2025. She is over one year of age—very sweet and affectionate to people whether it’s a child, adult, or someone coming over to look after her when we were away. She likes to be in the room where everyone is gathered and enjoys being rubbed. She may be a cat who picks a human to be “hers”. She follows me quietly wherever I go and hangs by me. The downside is that she is not the easiest to feed—we’ve tried different brands but Royal Canine is the only food she was able to keep down—and she likes to knock down cups that are full. She will jump on counters and tables only to do that. She can be snappy for good reason.
