Story
Meet Freya... Freya is about as special as a rescue pup comes. Ace of Hearts rescued her from death row after she waited for a week in the shelter with dislocated hip and 2 breaks in her left hind leg. She was in immense pain and dealing with her family dumping her but not once did that make her anything but the sweet, sweet dog we know today. Her gentle nature will have you falling head over heels in love. When she is all better, we know she will make an incredible bubbly companion for any human that has the heart to scoop her up and give her what she has never known. Are you Freya's next best friend? She would love to meet you!

Story
This little beauty is Camila! She came into our foundation when her owner who had her since she was a puppy reached out to us to surrender her because she felt she didn't have the time to dedicate to her. It's ok because Camila deserves better and we know that perfect home is out there for her! She is a 4 yr old, Silky Yorkie that is such a sweet girl with lots of fun energy! We are looking for a home with no other dogs as she can be a bit bossy along with owners that are not gone long hours during the day. Camila LOVES people, but does take a bit to warm up to men. She is a dog that yearns for love and most likely did not get that in her former home. She seems to get the hang of potty training quickly in a new environment. Camila deserves a home that will dote and love on her like she deserves and we know that home is out there for her! Please contact us at: gina@theforgottendog.org or 310-990-2020 Camila is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. We only adopt in the Greater LA areas as an in person meet/greet, home check, and trial period are required.

Story
This precious puppy is our little Beau! He is an approximately 10 week old, 9lb, Terrier mix (Border and Parson Russell possibly) that is the cutest puppy ever! Beau came to us when one of our team members was on the NextDoor app and saw that a man had just posted "free puppy being given away." We know the danger of giving a dog away, especially for free so we contacted the owner and met up with him to take the puppy! Little Beau was so scared and didn't know what was going on. The owner told us he bought him from a friend who's dog had a little of puppies, but after a week of owning Beau, the owner felt that a puppy was just a bit too much for him. It's ok because he is in one of our amazing foster homes and is getting so much love, care, and socialization with other dogs. Beau is such a happy, playful, and loving little guy! We definitely want him in a home with another playful pup and a home with safe and secure yard for him to run around in. Owners that are not gone long hours during the day would be ideal! Beau is one special little boy who deserves the best forever home out there! Beau is vaccinated, microchipped, and will be neutered at the appropriate age. We only adopt in the Greater LA areas as an in person meet/greet, home check, and trial period are required. Please contact us at gina@theforgottendog.org or 310-990-2020 Beau's adoption fee is $600.

Story
This lovely little girl is Tasha! Isn't she the cutest? Tasha came to us as part of an accidental litter where the owners accepted help to get the mom spayed, but needed to find homes for the puppies. We took the puppies into our foundation and Tasha and Evie (her sister) are still looking for their forever homes. Tasha is an 8 month old, female, Border Terrier mix. She is a happy and outgoing dog that loves everyone she meets! We are looking for a home for her that has another sweet and playful dog for her to grow up with and a home that has a safe and secure yard to run around in. Owners that are not gone long hours during the day would be ideal. Tasha's foster mom has nothing but wonderful things to say about our sweet girl and we know that her forever home is out there waiting for her! Tasha is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. We only adopt in the Greater LA areas as an in person meet/greet, home check, and trial period are required. Please contact us at: gina@theforgottendog.org or 310-990-2020

Story
PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION MEET ELODIE…a sweetheart of a 20 lb, 3 yr old, gray and white, Silky/Skye Terrier X…who came to us from the Inland Valley Humane Society. Not our typical pull, Elodie needed out and we came to her rescue! At first arrival, not uncommon, Elodie was confused and rather shy. But, it didn’t take her long to come to us and give gentle little kisses to let us know she was calming down. We learned very quickly that Elodie is a decorator and if she doesn’t like how things are placed, she will move them — most likely, she doesn’t like being bored! So, we decided she wanted company and placed another dog with her and she was happier. While she still would prefer a human’s company, she settled down. She loves to go for long walks and is good on the leash. It takes her a little time to find just the right spot! With outside access, her potty training seems good, but we never guarantee. Elodie is still rather reserved, as she just arrived a little bit ago, but she is warming up more and more every day. She is a good eater, a little fearful of new people on the street but her social skills kick in and she is just a wonderful, loving, affectionate girl. The ideal home for her would be one with or without another dog — but not one where she is left alone many hours. She doesn’t really engage that much, and we know that nobody is home 24/7, but a home where the family works from home or someone is there would be the best for Elodie. She is good with kids, dogs, not sure about cats but LOVES HER HUMANS!!! Does Elodie sound like a dog who could sing a “melody” in your home? She’s waiting!!! Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, groomed, vet checked, dewormed, deflea'd and come with a leash, collar and ID If you are interested in adopting a pup from Lhasa Happy Homes, please complete the Adoption Application before calling. We will contact you once it has been reviewed. Lhasa Happy Homes will be now holding our adoption events the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month on Main Street in Santa Monica (check calendar link below for special events and directions). Our event is located at 2116 Main Street, in Santa Monica, CA. Here you will have an opportunity to interact with the dogs and see which might be a perfect fit with your household. Main Street is famous for its innovative shops and is close to the beach! Make a day of it!! Metered parking on the street and free parking on 4th and Bicknell Streets. Here you will have an opportunity to interact with the dogs and see which might be a perfect fit with your household....and do some fantastic shopping at the same time! Please do call us if you are coming to see a particular dog to make sure he/she will be at adoptions (we do not bring sick dogs to our adoption events). Please bring pictures or video of your home and yard if we have not done a home check (preferred)! Most importantly, if you have a dog, make sure you bring him or her to do a compatibility match with the dog you are interested in adopting! Don't forget to check out our Events Calendar for more information on upcoming events! Story
Text or email for direct contact with rescuer located in Palmdale approved for same-day adoption (661)609-2186 memeco635@gmail.com Hello everyone, my name is Bella. Get the tissues ready because my story is a little tragic. I was homeless wandering the streets of Skid Row hoping to find a food drive where I could snag a couple treats from the vendors feeding the homeless when a homeless man’s German Shepherd attacked me out of nowhere! People were standing around yelling when a pitbull came and joined in on attacking me! After what felt like forever they were able to separate both dogs and pick me up but I was limp in shock, fearing I was already dead due to the amount of blood everywhere and my jaw barely hanging off my face I was rushed to an emergency vet who then transported me to Palmdale where I met my rescuer. My jaw was completely broken, and it had to be surgically reattached and wired shut, the person who transported me all the way to Palmdale wasn’t able to get the funds together to handle my surgery so my rescuer stepped in to help. They told her there was a very high chance that I wouldn’t survive the surgery and I would die on the table because I lost so much blood and I wasn’t responsive due to the shock and pain I was clearly in, but if they were determined to fight for me, I was determined to fight as well and I pulled through! I spent the next few weeks having a very difficult time, eating and drinking, and had to be fed with the syringe because I had tubes coming out of my neck and my jaw. My rescuer was determined to help me pull through, and after all the pain medication antibiotic‘s and vet visits I was cleared and I couldn’t stop smiling! I made a full recovery and my favorite thing to do now is follow my rescuer around her house and join in when she has a little dance breaks. I still get skittish around large dogs, but I’m very friendly and I haven’t shown Any signs of aggression because I do want to build bonds with other dogs, cats and children. I am very sweet however I am currently being called a Velcro dog because I want to be around people all the time. I am still on a soft food diet, even though my most severe injuries are healed, but I will have to be weaned into hard kibble overtime so for now I am enjoying wet food and shredded chicken with white rice with soft boiled veggies, and the occasional scrambled egg. My rescuer thinks it’s time for me to find a family of my own. I am very quiet and always wanting to cuddle. I would be a great addition to any family dynamic as I acclimate without issue. I have a very easy-going personality. I have no bad habits I just want love. I may have had a rough start, but I know my future involves a very loving family, a nice warm couch and a yard where I can play and soak in the sun. if you think I sound like the perfect match for your family please contact my rescuer with the information listed above my story to schedule a time to meet with me. I am approved for same-day adoption, and I guarantee you will fall in love with my smile. I really hope to find my forever family soon but until then I look forward to meeting you!

Story
Leo is a wonderful little guy. Very loving, sweet, playful and cute. But unfortunately my work schedule is changing and will not allow me to have a dog. I would need to travel for work often and stay away for days and I don't really have anyone else to care for him when i am away. He is afraid of other dogs after he was ganged up by a group of dogs and also was attacked by a coyote at my backyard in OC. Thank God I was able to save him but now he does not trust dogs with rare exceptions. He likes cats but he has so much energy, wants to play all the time and that will most likely annoy your cats. We love him very much but it will be of his best interest to find him a new family with a regular work routine. This breed really likes steady routines.
