Story
Meet Eyen, a 2-1/2 to 3-year-old, 42-pound Airedale-ish mystery mix who is officially retired from the "scary outside world" and looking for a private estate to call his own.Eyen is currently a professional wallflower. While his paperwork says Airedale, we suspect he might be part socially-anxious teddy bear. He treats new noises like they’re unsolicited telemarketing calls—he’d really rather not participate. Because he’s a sensitive soul who finds apartments a bit too "busy," he’s holding out for a quiet house with a yard where he can contemplate life without a neighbor’s leaf blower ruining his vibe. The Eyen Requirements:A Furry Life Coach: Eyen is a "dogs' dog." He needs a confident canine sibling to show him that the vacuum cleaner isn't actually a soul-eating monster.Homebody Vibes: If you’re looking for a brunch date to hit the local coffee shop, Eyen isn't your guy. But if you want a loyal companion to judge Netflix documentaries with from the safety of your sofa, he’s your MVP. And because kids come with noise, he'd be happiest if kids in the home are 12+.Patience (and Snacks): He recently braved a photoshoot and—in a display of Olympic-level courage—actually sniffed the photographer’s hand. He’s brave; he just does it on a delay.Eyen has had a sheltered life, but he’s ready to bloom. Once he trusts you, he’ll pay you back in wagging tails and pure, unadulterated devotion. Ready to be this handsome boy’s hero? You can view his profile and others on the Friends for Life Animal Rescue website or email info@azfriends.org to schedule a low-pressure meet-and-greet.To get started in the process for meeting Eyen, please visit https://azfriends.org/testing/adopt.html to complete an adoption consultation form, then come by the Adoption Center to meet with an adoption counselor. No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the animal. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)! Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).
