DOB: 2/11/2022Breed: Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier mix-Neutered Male 50lbs-Microchipped & fully vaccinated-Negative for heartworm & tick-borne diseases, and on a monthly preventative*Adoption Fee $300*A little bit about me… Hey there! I’m Alfred. I know I might not make the best first impression from inside my kennel. This has been my “home” for a long time, and I can come off a little strong when meeting new people. Please don’t let that stop you from getting to know me! I just take a little time building trust, but once you’re in, you’re in for life. I tend to warm up to women a little faster, but no matter who you are, if you give me a chance, I’ll show you my sweet and loyal side. I love going on long walks and playing fetch. Give me a long-lasting chew toy or a bone, and I’ll be the happiest pup around. I’ve spent most of my life waiting for my person. Could it be you? The highlights…-Guardian at heart-I display clean kennel behavior -I’d make a great hiking buddy-Very devoted to my peopleMy ideal home would include…-Patience is key. I may take time to adjust to a new home environment. Time, consistency, and positive reinforcement will help me as I learn.-Ongoing training and socialization. After spending most of my time in a shelter, I will have gaps in my social skills with people and other animals. Structed training, firm leadership, and controlled introductions to new situations will be essential.-Exercise and mental stimulation. Dogs with limited past experiences often have pent-up energy and curiosity. Regular exercise, enrichment activities, and structured routine will help me thrive

DOB: 2/11/2021Breed: Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier mix-Neutered Male 60lbs -Microchipped & fully vaccinated.-Negative for heartworm & tick-borne diseases, and on a monthly preventative*Adoption Fee $300*A little bit about me… Hey there, future best friend! I’m a big scruffy ball of energy looking for someone who can keep up with me! I’ve got a heart full of love and a playful spirit, but I’ll be honest, I can be a bit stubborn. I love to roughhouse, and sometimes I forget that play biting isn’t the best way to show affection. That’s why I need a strong leader who will teach me good manners with patience and consistency. I have tons of energy, so a vigorous lifestyle will suit me best. If you love hiking, running, or just playing until we’re both exhausted, I’m your guy! I’m still working on my social skills and play style, so I’ll need someone who’s willing to help me learn the ropes. If you’re looking for a fun-loving companion who’s ready for adventure, I’d love to meet you! Think you’re up for the challenge? Come say hi! I promise I’m worth it!The highlights…-Lots of bones and strong toys are a must!-Silly and entertaining to watch -I am very active and will benefit from lots of exercise-I love playing in water! My ideal home would include…-Patience is key. I have been in a shelter for the majority of my life, so I may not be familiar with household routines, basic commands, or even simple things like stairs or furniture. -Experience with training, and/or under-socialized dogs. -Exercise and Mental Stimulation. Dogs with limited past experiences often have pent-up energy and curiosity. Regular exercise, enrichment activities, and puzzle toys will help me thrive and prevent boredom

Story
Eyen is a 2-1/2 year old, 42 pound Airdale Terrier blend who joined us recently and he's now looking for his forever home. He's a bit shy at our adoption center, and will need a home who will give him time to adjust to a new environment. He could give a Master Class in play bows, once he's comfortable. He does well with other dogs and may do best with another dog in his home, since a canine buddy gives him confidence. Eyen is residing with one of our amazing foster homes and you may schedule an appointment to meet him by emailing info@AzFriends.org.No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the animal. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)! Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).
