Story
Darla is a beautiful Airedale–Poodle mix who recently arrived in New England and is currently fostering in the Boston area. She was rescued from Memphis after her former family faced a situation they couldn’t safely manage. Darla is an athletic girl and learned she could clear a five-foot fence, which led to unsupervised neighborhood adventures. In an area where roaming dogs are at real risk, her family made the loving decision to help her find a safer, more suitable home.Darla is wonderful with children and does well with other dogs. She previously lived with young kids and especially enjoys their company. She’s affectionate, social, and happiest when she’s included in the family. Her Airedale–Poodle mix means Darla is low-shedding, which is a plus for many adopters. She’s even more impressive in person than in photos, and she’s settling into her foster home nicely. She appears to be house-trained and is enjoying the attention and routine she’s receiving.A fenced yard is not required for Darla, but if she does have access to one, it should be at least six feet high, and she should always be supervised while outside. She would also do well with an adopter committed to providing regular exercise and mental stimulation.Darla is up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and ready to find her forever home. If you’re looking for a smart, affectionate, and engaging companion, Darla could be the perfect match.Name: DarlaBreed: Airedale Terrier/PoodleSex: FemaleAge: 1 year (estimated)Weight: 75.0Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: Yes, has grown up with themGood with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: NO CATSAdoption Fee: $550.00 (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently: MassachusettsIMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.
