Story
Buddy is a delightful, sweet, large boy. Buddy had a rough start to life and is eager for a second chance at his furrever home! Buddy is the definition of a gentle giant... though he considers himself to be more of the lap-dog type! Buddy is eager to become part of a loving family and has stolen the hearts of staff and volunteers in his short time at the shelter. Buddy is still very much a puppy at heart and is looking for a family that's ready to help him grow into the amazing dog he's meant to be. Like many young dogs, Buddy is still working on his manners, especially when it comes to jumping up to say hello and using his mouth during play. With consistency, patience, and reward-based training, this eager-to-learn boy will make a fantastic companion. He's playful, affectionate, and absolutely loves being around his people. Cuddles, attention, zoomies and goofing around are some of his favourite hobbies. Buddy is presumed to be a Great Pyrenees Mix, but we cannot guarantee this is 100% accurate without a DNA test. Great Pyrenees are headstrong, stubborn, and devoted working-breed companions who do best when they have a job to do and ample space to protect and explore. Buddy is best suited to an active home that can provide plenty of physical exercise, love, mental enrichment, and space to roam. Pyrenees are large farm dogs, originally bred to ward off predators and protect livestock. A home dedicated to breed-specific enrichment is crucial for his success and ensuring he becomes a well-rounded adult dog. Due to the high energy, working-nature of the breed, Pyrenees are not suited for first-time dog owners. Because of his excitable nature, Buddy is not suited for a home with small children but may do well with a canine companion or two! Buddy may also do well with older, dog-savvy kids who understand that he sometimes forgets his own strength! If you're looking for a happy, silly companion, Buddy might just be the perfect addition to your family. https://spca.bc.ca/survey/dog-adoption-application-kamloops/*TIP: We encourage all applicants to write a little bit about themselves when prompted.
