Story
Meet Boromir! This big boy is a 4 year old Anatolian Shepherd/Lab mix, searching for his forever home. After coming to us as a stray, this sweet boy has made his mark in the hearts of everyone he has met, dog and person alike. He really only needs two things in life to make him happy: Wide open spaces, and infinite pets and cuddles!Boromir appears to be a mix of livestock guardian breeds similar to the Anatolian Shepherd. Known for being territorial, courageous, and loyal, they are highly intelligent but require an experienced owner for proper training and socialization. Anatolians are intelligent but independent and stubborn, which can make training a challenge, and can be difficult for new owners to manage.Boromir appears to have little to no experience entering buildings/doorways, being on leash, or travelling. A potential adopter will need to be willing to work on building new, positive experiences in the home, and out in the world. He prefers to come and go as he pleases, and is not comfortable with containment. If he wants to meet that dog, or chase that squirrel... he will jump that fence!Boromir is a pretty healthy guy, but he does have some ongoing medical issues that will need to be managed. The sweet fella has chronic skin inflammation that needs to be managed with a hypoallergenic diet, and may need vet checks more than once a year. Because of his lack of world experience, this will require positive reinforcement training over time to help him become comfortable with travelling. The greatest place this oversized lap dog could live his life is on a large acreage or farm with indoor/outdoor access or access to a weatherproof shelter. Boromir loves other dogs, and would thrive with doggie siblings in his life. This special boy is awaiting his wide open spaces, and his future family's wide open arms. Leaving these sections empty limits our ability to make the best match possible, and drastically effects the likelihood of receiving a call back.* Primary Color: Cream Weight: 63.1 Age: 3yrs 2mths 1wks
