Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Lucius is a very handsome Akbash, who found his way into rescue after his owner dropped him off at a shelter when he could no longer care for him. Akbash are guardians similar to Pyrenees and true to his breed, Lucius is a gentle soul--loyal, alert and intelligent. He has lived indoors and does great as an inside dog with outdoor privileges. He is well-mannered, house trained and doesn’t require crating—he will bark to let you know when he needs to go outside. Lucius is a very tall and very long boy, 3’9” tall, 4’0 long. Like all Akbash, he can jump, which is why he needs a tall, six-foot fence. Grooming is easy with the Akbash shorter coat so you can skip those expensive visits to the groomers. Lucius would love a female companion to play with. He hasn’t been tested with cats or small animals. He rides well in the car, listens attentively and walks well on lead.  Lucius is a very loving dog looking for the right furever home who will appreciate all his wonderful qualities as a guardian and a companion.  NGPR Pooch Profile Name: Storm in TN Age: 4 yrs 10 mos old as of March 2024 Color: All white medium length coat Dew Claws: double Estimated Adult Weight: currently 100 lbs, needs to gain 25 more pounds Current Location: NGPR approved boarding in Mosheim, TN Medical: Neutered, dewormed, negative for heartworm, up-to-date on vaccinations and currently on flea, tick and heartworm preventative. Fees for senior dogs (7 or older) and foster dogs will be adjusted accordingly. NYS Registered Rescue # RR102 Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. If you can't foster or adopt at this time, please consider helping our Neediest Cases or making a tax-exempt donation by visiting our Donate page. Please complete the adoption application and visit nationalpyr.org to learn more about Pyrs and our adoption process. National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) is not a shelter. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If you are looking for a mellow, mature girl to be your companion, Cici may be the pyrfect girl for you! This beautiful girl may not be a young pup, but she is still full of zest and is more than happy to accompany you as you run your errands, work on chores in and around the house, or go for a leisurely walk in the neighborhood. Cici is looking for a loving home where she can have her own furever people to love and care for. This girl takes the responsibility of furever best friends seriously - once she bonds with you, she will give you all her heart and swear to protect you furever and ever! Cici prefers to be the only pooch in the household so she can enjoy all the love and attention you have to offer. On the other hand, this girl can be very playful with the right toys, and it is always a joy to watch her run around and fling her toy in the air to catch. This lovely girl will do well in a relatively quiet home where her people enjoy her company as she continues into her golden years. Are you ready to apply to be Cici's furever best friend?
