Paper versions are available upon request. If you are interested in this pet, please fill out the brief Adopter Survey by hitting "Apply for Adoption" on the profile above. After we review your completed survey, we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sunday and Monday and will not be processing any applications on those days. Please get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH! adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH! cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). An adoption counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH! adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and/or a leash to pick up and their ID. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. Cats and kittens are required to leave in a pet carrier. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Park in the parking lot and enter the facility. A PCH! representative will greet you and show you to the adoption room. Your new pet will be handed to you. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart – Bloomington, IL: Park in the PetSmart (1606 E. Empire St.) Parking lot and enter the store. We will be set up just inside the store entrance. Let us know you are here to pick up your pet! A PCH! representative will confirm your information and hand you your pet. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at the Cat’s Meow Cafe: Navigate to PetSmart, park in the parking lot and enter the store. Locate a PCH! Representative at our adoption table and let them know you are picking up a Cat Cafe Cat. You will sign your final contract with your counselor and snap a picture of the completed screen. Head to the Cat’s Meow Cafe at 507 N. Hershey Rd and provide them with the snapshot of your final contract. They will get your cat and take a “Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. PCH! supports a 30-day no-fault return policy in which adopters are given the opportunity to find a better match. If we cannot provide advice/tools to keep a pet in the home we offer these options: Exchange for a pet that may be a better match** Receive a refund minus a $40 processing fee** With this approach, we can often turn mismatches into opportunities! Thank you, Pet Central Helps!

Story
Meet Hei Hei, a gorgeous 2-year-old Great Pyrenees mix weighing 53.4 pounds who arrived with her brother, Tamatoa. Hei Hei is a gentle, house-trained girl who is settling into her foster home and slowly letting her personality shine. She prefers the main level of the house, where she can curl up on the couch for a cozy nap or stretch out on her dog bed with a good bone. She’s still decompressing, so playtime is limited for now, but she takes everything in with quiet curiosity. As she becomes more comfortable, Hei Hei enjoys short, sweet bursts of play. Recently, she had a lovely moment in the yard with her human foster sister. After catching up to her, Hei Hei offered a playful bow and showed just how gentle and thoughtful she is, even when she’s having fun. This mellow sweetheart loves life’s simple pleasures: lounging outside in the snow, relaxing near her people, and soaking up affection once she feels safe. Earn her trust, and she’ll rest her head in your lap and melt into every pet. She has a calm, attentive presence and seems happiest just being near those she loves. Hei Hei gets along well with the dogs in her foster home and is wonderfully patient with kids. When meeting new people, especially men, she may give a few nervous barks or flinch at first, but with kindness and reassurance, she warms up quickly. She would do well in many home environments, though she may thrive most in a quieter household where she can continue building confidence at her own pace. With time, patience, and love, Hei Hei will blossom into a loyal and deeply affectionate companion. Though she may be shy at first, Hei Hei is an incredibly sweet girl. Her minimum adoption fee is $300, plus a $15 rabies registration fee for McLean County residents if 4 months or older. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
