Story
Hi there, I’m Gypsy — a free spirit with paws made for adventure ??They named me Gypsy because I’ve got that wander-at-heart energy — always curious, always ready to explore, and happiest when life feels wide open. I’m a Great Pyrenees with a big body, an even bigger personality, and a whole lot of love to give once I know you’re my people. When we first meet, I might take a minute to do my own thing. I like to observe, sniff, and decide when I’m ready — but once I warm up? Ohhh, you’re in. Expect loose wiggles, happy grins (yes, I show my teeth when I’m excited — it’s my version of smiling), and a giant fluffy shadow following you around for attention. Attention is my favorite currency.I’m an active girl who enjoys movement, play, and especially snowy fun. Toss me a snowball and I’ll show you my athletic side — catching, pouncing, and digging like it’s my job. Walks are exciting too, and I’ll need someone strong and confident who understands that a big, enthusiastic Pyr doesn’t always float politely at the end of the leash right away.I’m very social and friendly with people, kids, and other dogs. I love meeting new friends and can get a little chatty when I’m excited — I’ve got opinions and I’m not shy about sharing them. I enjoy toys and play, but what really lights me up is connection. If you’re giving me your time and affection, I’m happy. Now, here’s something important about me — I need freedom, not confinement. Crates, pens, and closed-off spaces make me panic, and I will try everything to escape them, which can put me at risk of hurting myself. I do much better loose in the home. I may protest a little at first when you leave (a bit of whining — I just miss you!), but when given space and trust, I can settle and do just fine.Tips for helping me succeed at home:Skip crates and confinement entirelyStart with very short absences and build up slowlyKeep departures and arrivals calm and low-keyMake sure I’ve had plenty of exercise and enrichment before alone timeStick to a predictable routine — it helps me feel secureI’m looking for an active, experienced home with people who understand my breed, my size, and my free-spirited nature. No apartments, please — I need room to move, stretch, and be my full majestic self.If you want a playful, affectionate, talkative, snow-loving, big-hearted companion who will happily join you on life’s adventures (as long a
