Story
I got Nanuq up in the woods near Yacolt, WA. I have had him for 5 years. I took Nanuq everywhere with me. Around people, hiking, thousand acre dog park, etc…. When Nanuq turned 5 he just got really protective. He has bitten twice thinking I was in danger. Therefore I cannot take him anywhere to run him. I’ve been paying to run him daily on private property. This is why someone with property would be perfect for him. He also has to have Prescription dog food. Now at 68 I have a couple health problems that require frequent hospitalizations. I am not i.n a hurry to have Nanuq leave. I just want him to have a loving home. Nanuq. Plays with friendly dogs but he has to be introduced. Nanuq also needs to be introduced to people, then they will be fine. There would be things to discuss.

Story
Meet Steve – Your Favorite Goofball in a Fluffy White Coat! If laughter is the best medicine, then Steve is ready to be your daily prescription! This handsome Great Pyrenees is a lovable, oversized goofball who brings joy wherever he goes. With his goofy personality, silly antics, and constant ability to make people smile, Steve is the kind of dog who turns ordinary days into adventures.Steve is wonderful with kids and absolutely loves spending time with his family. He's affectionate, fun-loving, and always up for a good romp in the yard. While he enjoys the company of some other dogs, he prefers to make friends slowly and tends to get along best with female dogs after a proper introduction.Despite his Great Pyrenees roots, Steve would have definitely flunked out of livestock guardian school! His prey drive is simply too strong, which means he cannot live with cats or other small animals.Steve's happy place is a securely fenced backyard where he can stretch his legs, patrol the perimeter, play, and enjoy life at his own pace. He much prefers free play and exploring the yard over long, structured walks. Like many big, powerful dogs, Steve is strong on leash and is still working on his walking manners. He's also been known to get excited by bicycles and may try to chase them, so he'll need a confident handler who can safely manage his strength.Steve is looking for a home that appreciates his goofy charm, understands his quirks, and will give him the space and security he needs to thrive. In return, he'll provide endless entertainment, unconditional love, and plenty of unforgettable moments. If you're searching for a big-hearted, fun-loving companion who will keep you laughing every single day, Steve is ready to become your new best friend. What his adoption fee covers:✅ Neuter✅ Vaccines✅ Microchip✅ Treated for fleas and worms Interested in meeting Steve? Please email: adoption@columbiahumane.org for an application.Adoption Fee: $350For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgJuly 4, 2026, 8:09 am
