Story
Meet Rocky! Rocky is a 4-year-old Great Pyrenees with quite the story to tell. After being found running loose and suffering from multiple porcupine quills throughout his face, Rocky was rescued through the combined efforts of local police and dedicated volunteers. Thanks to the wonderful care provided by our friends at Laurel Highlands Animal Health, Rocky has made a full recovery and is feeling better than ever. While Rocky may be a little shy when meeting new people, patience and kindness go a long way with this gentle giant. Once he begins to trust you, his sweet and affectionate personality truly shines. Rocky absolutely loves attention and can never get enough head scratches and belly rubs from his favorite people. Rocky would do best as the only dog in the home, as he does not appear to get along well with other dogs. We are unsure how he feels about cats, but we would be happy to perform a cat test upon request. Rocky also has some toy and food possessiveness. Our staff is actively working with him on these behaviors, but because of this, we feel he would be most successful in a home with children 12 years of age or older who can understand and respect his boundaries. Rocky has overcome a lot and is now ready to find a patient, loving family that will give him the happy ending he deserves. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a big heart and an even bigger love for belly rubs, Rocky may be the perfect match for you!

Story
Meet Bear! Bear is a 5-year-old Great Pyrenees with a larger-than-life personality and an even bigger heart. His journey to our shelter wasn't an easy one. Bear was rescued by local police and dedicated volunteers after being found running loose with multiple porcupine quills embedded throughout his face. Thanks to the outstanding care and compassion of our friends at Laurel Highlands Animal Health, Bear received the treatment he needed and has made a remarkable recovery. Today, he's healthy, happy, and ready to find a forever family of his own. Bear's name couldn't fit him any better. While he may look like a giant fluffy bear, he's truly just a big teddy bear who wants nothing more than to be loved. He has never met a stranger and quickly wins over everyone he meets with his friendly and affectionate personality. Bear absolutely loves people and will gladly accept any attention you're willing to give him. Whether it's pets, scratches, belly rubs, or simply spending time by your side, Bear is happiest when he's with his favorite humans. As much as he loves people, Bear can be selective when it comes to other dogs. Because of this, we require a meet-and-greet with any dogs he may potentially be living with to ensure a good match. We are currently unsure how Bear feels about cats, but we would be happy to cat test him upon request. Bear has overcome a difficult start and has shown incredible resilience along the way. Now, he's ready to leave his past behind and begin the next chapter of his life with a family that will cherish him as much as he will cherish them. If you're looking for a loyal, loving companion with a gentle soul and plenty of affection to give, Bear may just be the perfect addition to your home.
