Story
Hi, I’m Huey! I’m a calm, easygoing guy who really enjoys my downtime, especially stretching out for a nap in a big, comfy bed. I do well in my kennel and understand when it’s time to relax and settle in. When it’s time to play, I can get excited and enthusiastic! Because of this, I would do best in an adult home with adopters who can help me continue learning how to stay balanced during playtime and understand it's all out of love. I love attention and would be happiest as the only dog in the home, where I can soak up all the affection. I’ve been here a little while, so staff can share more about my history if you’re interested in meeting me. I’m ready to find a loving home where I can truly relax and be part of the family! Story
Quinnie is the sweetest most cuddly 61 lb dog. She loves human attention, and walks, and being pet, and playing. When she is not napping she plays with toys, likes to run around in circles. I would be cautious of her with smaller dogs and small animals. She loved our other dog (medium sized Australian) he was mellow and they played great. But he recently died. She is very healthy and will eat normally most of the time. Her special needs are she has separation anxiety. We recently moved and the loss of her friend has made her regress into some chewing when we leave for short periods of time. We were given anxiety medication for her and it used to work but I think she is just quite stressed out right now. We have some long travel coming up- 1-2 weeks every month. She does not do well in boarding or being without human interaction. When she is boarded or crated she drools A LOT and eats little. We worry that we are not the right family for her now that our kids have gone to college.
