Story
We typically try to tell a rescue’s story with a combination of rescue history, one-on-one interactions, and foster notes, but when a local animal lover came to transfer her foster into our program, we found her write-up to be quite compelling. Her love for Tiny was so obvious, and her hopes for him were very high, so we would like to turn the mic to her: “To Tiny’s future humans, foster or adopter: I first met Tiny in April while volunteering at the Lockhart Animal Shelter. Even in that environment, his confidence, friendliness, and gentle spirit were obvious. He came home with me as a foster on May 21, 2026, and has since been with me and his foster sister, who came home with him. Here’s what I’ve learned about him during our time together: He is equal parts loves-chilling-at-home and loves-going-on-long-walks. He loves greeting people and dogs while on walks, and has done great with the dogs and kids he’s met. He barely ever barks and sleeps through the night, which is apparently rare for a Great Pyrenees! He’s not particularly food-motivated and eats only as much as he’s hungry for. He loves tummy rubs and will put up with being brushed for quite a while. He can jump a low fence, and if he sees something that interests him, he is curious to check it out. He’s housebroken and isn’t interested in getting on furniture (or on dog beds). Tiny is a perfect dog. If there were not so many dogs in Texas desperate for a foster, I’d adopt him. He is an absolute joy. He’s made so many friends during our time together – my best friend fell in love with him, my neighbor fell in love with him (they even did overnights, and I’d run into them on their walks together). If he ever needs anything at all at any time, please reach out to me. Sincerely, Tiny’s Foster” This letter is a testament to Tiny’s lovable character, and we hope it is enough to convince you.
