Story
Name: Neve ( I call her Honey Bunny)DOB: 01/05/2026Breed: Akbash - possibly a Great Pyrennes in the woodpile -DNA results pendingCurrent weight: 75 LBCurrent Height: 31 inches at the shoulderPersonality: She is VERY smart! Just remember, smart does not mean compliance or acquiescence. She has a mind of her own, and needs to understand what is in the common interest. Redirection is much more effective than simple correction when her behavior is unacceptable. She is a gentle spirit. Not a mean bone in her body. Gets along with other dogs, cats, children and does not feel threatened by strangers in a neutral setting. Very laid-back. She enjoys taking a hike and exploring new things but also likes to just patrol the property lines and alert to something out of place. She is very sensitive; does not require any loud voice of aggressive behavior to correct her. A gentle correction and redirection is all that is needed. She does prefer soft chew toys rather than bones or beef cheeks. Tug-of-war is a favorite game for her. She is NOT a cuddler. she is not affectionate in the way many expect a dog to be. Tolerates grooming and nail clipping, but is not going to be your joined-at the-hip companion. expressive tail-wagging and face licking are not her thing.Training: House-broke. Uses a dog door. understands basic commands - will come when called, sit, down, etc. But her basic Akbash personality makes her independent, so just because she understands what you are asking does not mean she will comply. She is a guardian. She will always be there for you, but will always evaluate what you ask of her vs. what is best (in her opinion)Neve is a courtesy listing and not at the shelter.
