Story
Ryce (A564928) might look familiar, and that’s because he was recently adopted and unfortunately had to be returned. Through no fault of his own, we learned that Ryce is not a good fit for a home with cats, so his next chapter will need to be cat free. Ryce appears to be a herding type dog, and that instinct definitely shows. He enjoys herding his dog friends and would do best in a home with other dogs who are comfortable with that kind of play. The good news is that he has done well with both male and female dogs and genuinely enjoys canine companionship.Outside is where Ryce truly shines. He loves stretching out in the grass, rolling around, and soaking up the fresh air whenever he gets the chance. He walks like a total gentleman on a leash, rides well in the car, and did great with kids in his previous home. Ryce is mostly laid back, with the occasional burst of playful energy that he prefers to burn off by romping around the yard. He’s not especially motivated by typical treats, but if you happen to have steak… you’ve got his attention. Ryce isn’t perfect, but he’s a very good boy with a lot to offer the right home. If you’re looking for a dog who enjoys the outdoors, gets along with other dogs, and would make a loyal family member, Ryce might just be your guy. Come meet him and see if he’s the missing piece to your familyRyce is guesstimated to be 5 years old and weighs 71 lbs. All dogs adopted from Huntsville Animal Services are spayed/ neutered, microchipped, dewormed, appropriately vaccinated, and receive a topical 90-day flea/ tick preventative.Ready to meet Ryce? Just stop by our shelter and head to our dog areas. You can find him in kennel D34. All adopters must be 19 years or older with a valid ID.

Story
Looking for a dog who’s equal parts strength, charm, and mischief? Meet Rambo, an Akita mix who will keep you laughing and on your toes. This handsome powerhouse is full of personality. He's confident, clever, and ready to rule your heart (and probably your house). Rambo is a born leader and needs a confident, experienced handler who appreciates a dog with a big presence. He’s loves to show off his smarts — especially if there are treats or toys involved! With his goofy grin and harmless “gotcha” moments, Rambo’s trickster spirit will keep life fun as long as you remember to reinforce the rules. Rambo prefers to be your one-and-only, having the spotlight all to himself. If you’re confident, active, and ready to team up with a dog who’s equal parts strength, smarts, and silliness, Rambo might just be your perfect match. Story
Meet Odin, a powerful name for a smart, energetic dog who knows what he likes. This handsome guy is very treat-motivated, already knows sit, and loves chasing balls, making him a fun partner for training and interactive play. Odin walks decently on leash and would truly shine in a home with plenty of space where he can stretch his legs, burn energy, and enjoy doing his own thing. Like his namesake, Odin is selective about his inner circle. He prefers to be the only pet and would do best in a cat-free home. He can be cautious with new people and may bark at strangers, so he’s looking for a confident, experienced adopter who understands how to build trust and provide calm, consistent guidance. In the right hands, Odin will reward patience with loyalty and a strong bond—ideal for someone seeking a devoted companion rather than a social butterfly.
