Story
Looks like: Akita mix Female, 10 years old (estimated), 56 pounds Jabulani (or Jabu for short) is an absolute sweetheart who adores being around people, including children. She lights up with pure delight whenever someone approaches her to say hello. She likes pets and belly rubs and always wants to be in the same room as her humans. This girl will steal the show with her agile spins and funny vocalization, topped off with the best curly-tailed tail-wags to communicate her excitement. Jabu is such a Stellar pup and gets along just fine mingling with other dogs but she would prefer to be the apple of your eye in her next home and is searching for a home where she can be a solo dog. This active and energetic pup enjoys running after tennis balls or frisbee rings, will challenge you to rounds of tug-of-war, or go crazy with her squeaky toys. Jabu is well versed in basic commands and eager to please. She walks nicely on leash, sometimes pulling a little early during the walk, ready to explore and get moving. Staying home alone makes her a bit anxious and she may whine and complain about it. She would much rather come along and go on a car ride with you. In her wildest dreams, Jabu is hoping for a home where she would get a lot of time with her humans, go for daily walks, and get lots of play and cuddle time. While she is always willing to play or go on an adventure, she is also super happy to chill out and relax. Jabu joined us after her guardian sadly passed away unexpectedly.

Story
Introducing Sushi! This handsome husky was a long-termer at Hitchcock Road Animal Services before coming into our care here at AFRP. Now, he's looking for his furever home! Sushi is a lovable pup who has yet to meet someone he doesn't get along with! He's definitely seeking a home with Ana active family that enjoys the water (and playing with sticks) just as much as he does! He's up for any adventure so long as some yummy treats are involved and his favorite humans. Sushi is looking for a home with adult adopters or with families that have children over the age of 10 to ensure safe and continued positive socialization! Sushi does well with other dogs and would love to find a home with another playful pup (cats unknown) but will need to be introduced slowly and over time. We are seeking adopters who have experience with large breed dogs like Huskies as well as their personalities, behaviors, and increased need for physical activity. Pre-registration for general obedience classes is a requirement for adoption. Sushi is currently in foster care. Meet and greets can be arranged once your online application has been approved. Story
Introducing Fraser! This playful pup came to us from Santa Cruz County Animal Services after he was hit by a car, leading to a fractured leg. Now in recovery, Fraser is looking for his furever home! Despite his injury, Fraser is your typical husky pup. His fosters say he loves to howl when greeting guests and new friends! He loves stuffed toys and is a very food-motivated pup, once recovered he will be a very active boy and is looking for a family who can keep up with him and allow him to take on adventures! Since he is still recovering, it is important to note he will not be able to rough-house with any other dogs in the home or perform extraneous activities until fully recovered. Fraser does great with other dogs but can become too excited with cats, so he will need to be introduced to any cats in the home gradually overtime. Due to his breed and age, we are seeking an experienced owner who has previously owned large breed dogs like huskies and German shepherds as he can be your typical stubborn husky. He would do best in a home with adult adopters or with families that have children over the age of 10 at this time. Fraser will require pre-registration to general puppy classes (positive reinforcement only) prior to adoption to ensure he is continuing his positive socialization and training. Fraser is currently in foster care and meet and greets can be arranged once your online application has been received and approved. Visit www.animalfriendsrescue.org for our online dog application.
