Story
Adoptions by appointment only. Visit www.companionsanimalcenter.org ADOPT to view our adoption process.Hey, I'm George! I recently came to CAC through local animal control. You may have read my story in the press, I had been running loose for awhile! Despite being an "outside" dog I am a great guy! I always keep my kennel super clean and go potty outside. I walk well on a leash and I know some basic commands. I seem to enjoy the company of other dogs, but need a home with no small animals or children. I love to be outside and to run around, however sometimes that gets me in trouble! I need an owner who will be very committed to keeping me safe! I should never be left alone outside, even if you have a fenced yard. I will need supervised potty breaks and playtime through the day, or to be on leash at all times. Before considering adding me to your life, make sure you have the appropriate amount of time, space, and resources available to care for me for my lifetime. I can't wait to meet my forever family!

Story
Rex is an excellent dog for a one owner home. He has never been good with kids or small animals. He coexists well with a boxer lab mix. Rex has never been outwardly aggressive but he is very protective over his personal space. He is house trained but has some issues with getting food off the countertops. He is decently leash trained and doesn’t pull too much. Once you gain his trust (which took me quite a while) he will be your dog forever. I have brought in two small children and another dog into my home and just can’t take the risk of Rex reacting to a two year old negatively.
