Story
Meet Carol Belle — a 2 year old, 11 lb Pomeranian mix with a heart full of sweetness, a love for play, and a personality that blossoms with routine and patience Quick Facts: Name: Carol Belle Breed: Pomeranian Mix Age: 2 years old Weight: 11 lbs. House-Trained: 95% there! Crate-Trained: Not needed Good with Dogs: Yes (small dogs she can play with) Good with Cats: Not yet tested Good with Kids: Yes, older respectful kids Energy Level: Medium – high (very playful!) Fence Required: Yes, as she is scared of using a leash About Carol Belle’s Breed: Our best guess is that Carol Belle is a Pomeranian mixed breed. Pomeranians are known for their bright, lively personalities and their big dog confidence wrapped in a tiny, fluffy package. They’re affectionate, alert, and love being involved in whatever their people are doing, whether that’s playing, learning new tricks, or simply supervising from a cozy lap. Their expressive nature and eagerness to bond make them wonderfully engaging companions. An ideal home for a Pomeranian is one that offers structure, gentle handling, and plenty of companionship. They thrive with families who appreciate their sensitive side and can provide routine, mental stimulation, and lots of interaction. Because of their small size and sometimes timid nature, they do best in homes that can keep them safe, respect their boundaries, and let their spirited, loving personalities shine. What to Love about Carol Belle: Belle is a professional snack catcher, a devoted fetch enthusiast, and a total joy to watch as she zooms around the yard with her foster siblings. She usually brings the ball back, too — a true overachiever! Belle is a sensitive girl who gets car sick easily and can pee when she’s scared in the car. New things can be overwhelming for her, and she’s currently petrified of asphalt, so she’s been hitting the wooded nature trails instead! Because of her fear of asphalt or concrete sidewalks and her energetic nature, a fenced yard is required so she can safely run, play, and build confidence. Plus, she LOVES playing fetch and has had a blast running after a ball in the yard at her foster home! Bonus points if you have a ball throwing machine! She gets along beautifully with the small dogs in her foster home and would benefit from a friendly, patient dog sibling to show her the ropes, though she could be an only dog with the right adopter. Her play style is submissive and easygoing, and she’s learning important manners like taking treats only when her name is called and respecting boundaries. She’s working on sit, come, drop it, and leave it, and she’ll even use a pee pad inside if she isn’t let out. Belle is timid with new people and would do best in a home without small children who may make sudden moves and scare her, both because of her size and her shy nature. She doesn’t need a crate and does well when left alone in the home. Her foster mom absolutely adores her, especially when she “barks” with the ball still in her mouth — a signature Belle move! Carol Belle’s Highlights: • 2 year old, 11 lb Pomeranian mix with a playful, zoomie loving personality • Professional snack catcher and enthusiastic fetch player (she usually brings the ball back!) • Needs a fenced yard due to her fear of asphalt and love of running • Thrives with routine and can be timid with new people or new situations • Gets along well with small dogs and would benefit from a confident dog sibling • Submissive, easygoing play style and learning good treat taking manners • Potty trained; uses a pee pad if not let out in time • Does well loose in the home when alone — no crate needed • Best in a home without small children due to her size and timidity • Active girl who loves to run, play, and learn, and is working on basic cues like sit, come, drop it, and leave it Carol Belle is a playful, sensitive, and deeply lovable little dog who thrives with routine, patience, and an active home. With the right family, she’ll continue to blossom into the confident, joyful companion she’s meant to be! Story
Meet Lotso — a 12 year old, 7 lb Pomeranian mix with a gentle soul, a big heart, and the sweetest old man charm. Quick Facts: Name: Lotso Breed: Chihuahua Mix Age: 12 years old Weight: 7 lbs. House-Trained: 50/50 (needs to go out every few hours, but uses pee pads) Crate-Trained: Yes Good with Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: Yes Good with Kids: Yes (preferably calmer children due to his age) Energy Level: Couch potato Fence Required: No (do not leave unattended outside) Special Needs: Vision issues in one eye, hard of hearing, and has a collapsed trachea. Medications: He is on Theophylline and Temaril for life. About Lotso's Breed: Our best guess is that Lotso is a Pomeranian breed. Pomeranians are known for their spunk, liveliness, intelligence, and loyalty, often seeming much larger in spirit than their tiny size suggests. These pups make wonderful companions for families or individuals who enjoy a charming, people&#226&#128&#145oriented little dog - just like Lotso! What to Love about Lotso: Lotso may be hard of hearing, have a collapsed trachea, and not able to see well out of one eye, but none of that dims his loving spirit. He is potty trained as long as he’s taken out every few hours and will also use pee pads in his crate. Because of his age and needs, he’s looking for someone who is home most of the day and can give him the steady routine and companionship he thrives on! This tiny gentleman is wonderful with everyone—from gentle kids to grandparents—and anyone willing to hold him like a little baby instantly becomes his favorite person! He gets along beautifully with dogs and cats, though he’s not playful; he’s a true couch potato who lives for naps, cuddles, and being your loyal TV buddy during long Football Sundays. Lotso doesn’t need a fenced yard, but he shouldn’t be left outside unattended. He enjoys short, leisurely walks and loves riding in his stroller to get some fresh air. When he’s not snoozing, he’s quietly following his person from room to room, offering soft kisses and hoping for a meatball treat—his favorite reward and the secret to getting him to take his medicine. He rarely barks, only giving a little morning reminder when he’s ready to come out of his crate. Lotso has come such a long way and is ready to spend his golden years in a calm, loving home where he can be cherished, cuddled, and adored. Lotso is a tender, affectionate senior who just wants a warm lap, gentle hands, and a family to love him through his twilight years! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Lola requires an approved Best Friend Pet Adoption application before you can be considered or meet her.   The link to our application is... https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC FOSTER COMMENTS:      Hi there! I'm Lola, your 60 pound bundle of husky happiness!  I am a grown-up girl who is 4 years old.  I'm a total sweetheart with a playful personality, and I've never met a human (old or young) thatI didn't instantly adore! I'm a gentle girl, always up for cuddles, head scratches, and maybe even a few stolen kisses. I am way too interested in cats.  So I need to find a home without kitties so I can be on my best behavior.   Outdoors, I'm a zoomie champion! I love to run and play, especially with my foster sibling. But don't worry, once we're back inside, I transform into the perfect houseguest. I'll curl up and chill out until it's time for another adventure.   I would love a fenced yard and a furry male playmate in my forever home. I am a social girl who will do best in a home with a male dog. But, if you are up to playing and walking with me, that will work too.  I need my exercise to get my wiggles out!  I'm already a leash-walking pro and can't wait to explore the neighborhood with my new family.  I'm a quiet around the house except when I get excited.  My foster mom is working with me, I am a quick learner,  to not bark when I'm excited!  I am not a fan of the crate but I don’t need a crate because I have great house manners.  My foster mom works from home so I sit quietly while she does her work.  I have been left along 4-6 hours with no problems.  I am potty trained with no accidents in the house,  crate-free, and I promise not to chew your shoes.  If you're looking for a loving, loyal, and sweet companion who's always up for fun, I might just be the girl for you! &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 EVERY DOG HAS A STORY:   Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.     Applicants must live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized.  Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions.  We therefore require applicants to live within an hours drive of Cary NC.   INTERESTED IN ADOPTING  LOLA?
