Story
This pet was brought in as a stray and will NOT be available for adoption through our program. All stray animals brought in are posted on the gallery to hopefully be reunited with their families. Each pet is evaluated upon arrival, and throughout their stay, at the Animal Center and we do our best to place the animal in the setting most appropriate for them. Sometimes, they may be better served through one of our Transfer Partners due to the intervention needed, ongoing care required or a quieter setting for that individual. We want our animals to put their best paw forward. If you are a 501c3 rescue and are interested in partnering with WCAC to help this pet, and others, you can find more information on how to help at: https://www.wakegov.com/departments-government/animal-services/community-partners/transfer-program If this is your pet, please contact us immediately at AnimalCenter@wake.gov Primary Color: Brown Weight: 11.5 Age: 2yrs 0mths 0wks

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Ralph is a estimated 6 year old Pomeranian. He was rescued from a huge puppy mill bust in TN with over 100 dogs on the property. Ralph takes time to warm up and overall very headshy initially. We are working on leash manners, crate training and potty training at this time.  He wears a belly band most of the time indoors and in his kennel and never messes with it. He is becoming a little sassy and playful at this time, he likes to follow and the run and hide and peek out once you turn around. He has gotten very excited for his walks but he still startles easily.  *************************************************** The adoption fee is $400, which covers vetting, microchip and the spay/neuter surgery performed by a rescue-affiliated vet. All dogs receive a wellness visit and are up to date on shots appropriate for age. Breed and size is Pawfect Match Rescue's best guess and not guaranteed. Please go to https://www.pawfectmatch.org/animals/search? and search on the dog name to see more photos, browse the profile, and complete an application  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 11, 2025, 4:44 pm

Story
Zoey is a sweetheart with the gentlest soul. This little lady is all about love, she’ll curl up in your lap any chance she gets and happily soak in all the belly rubs you’re willing to give. Don’t let her age fool you, though. Zoey still has a fun, spunky personality and is known for her signature side-eye that keeps everyone smiling. She loves walks through the neighborhood, playing with little toys she can easily carry around and car rides! She’s a true velcro dog who adores being close to her people, so she’d thrive in a home where someone is home often to give her attention and companionship. She prefers a quiet, cozy environment and spends plenty of time napping. Her favorite spot is on the back of the couch, where she can perch to watch the world go by. She will alert you to every delivery truck and big rumbling vehicle that dares to pass by! Zoey doesn’t care for big dogs and we believe she’d do best as an only dog where she can enjoy one-on-one attention. We’re open to homes with another small dog, but we suspect she would truly shine as the center of someone’s world. She has been fine with cats, so a feline friend is a possibility. If you want a loyal, lap-loving best friend, Zoey may be your girl.
