Story
Yuffie is a gorgeous, lively husky girl with a big heart and a zest for life. At around 3–4 years old, she brings that classic sparkle — expressive, social, and always ready to engage with her people.
In the kennel, Yuffie presents beautifully: she greets you at the front with soft eyes, a loose body, and a friendly mid-wag tail. She’s easy to leash, enjoys human affection, and happily leans in for pets. She allows handling with ease and has been described by volunteers as “such a doll.”
Out and about, Yuffie shines. She’s been calm and happy to explore new environments. On a recent day trip, she showed off her athletic side — running, exploring, and soaking up the world around her.
At times, her curiosity and drive to explore mean she’ll do best with someone who understands the breed and can provide structure, secure spaces, and outlets for her energy. In return, you’ll get a loyal, affectionate companion who’s both playful and sweet.
If you’re looking for an active, stunning dog who bonds deeply with her people and is ready for adventures (and couch time afterward), Yuffie may be your girl. Come meet her at ACCT Philly, open daily from 10 am to 6 pm

Email from a volunteer:
Yuffie is marked green, and I wanted to make sure someone knew we had a pretty different walk compared to what the rest of her sheet suggested is her norm.
We had a bit of an issue getting her out which was mostly my fault (she was trying to run out and got caught in the other partial loop and then slipped the wrong one, someone helped distract her while I fixed it) but when we were outside, she was very focused on escape. She was running and pulling to go to the street fence and then trying to dig under it and squeeze herself through the breaks in it before pulling again, wanting to go along to the next break and trying again. This was the general gist of her focus if I didn’t redirect her and when we went into one of the smaller yards, she had the same behaviors. She wedged herself in the door when I was going to take the leash of when we returned to the kennel to prevent me from being able to take it off her.
She was bizarrely sweet in all of these, so it wasn’t aggressive, it was just quite a bit to manage. I have a husky mix teenage pup at home so it never got to a point that it was unmanageable or dangerous for me, but I know that it was well above what a typical green has been and if someone wasn’t expecting it and really needed to stay with green behavior, it may have been too much.
Hopefully it’s just a one off as the rest of the record has her being easy and a joy, but I didn’t want this to go unnoticed in case she needs to go up.
12/07/2025 volunteer notes: Yuffie is such a doll! She is a very typical husky and loves speaking the language of her people. However, she presents pretty calmly for a husky! She doesn't pull on leash and likes a slow leisurely walk. She was non-reactive to all of the dogs outside. She allowed us to put a bandana on her no problem for the photoshoot. She even laid on her side for belly rubs during the shoot, taking it all in and relaxing :)
12/07/2025 staff notes: Kennel Presentation: Standing at the front of the kennel with ears forward (in natural position) soft eyes and loose body with mid wagging tail.
Leash Skills: Easy to leash and pulled mildly through the kennel. Gave a good howl when we got to the door like it was going to help open the door. Once outside she remained loose and soft on our walk.
Sociability: Very social! Did a consent pet and she came closer and leaned into pets. Allowed all handling, was even able to check her teeth and I believe shes about 3-4 years old.
Play: n/a
Dog Interaction: Saw a small dog in the x pen and had no reaction.
Return to Kennel: Pulled a little harder when we came into the kennels. Walked right into her kennel and unleashed without issue.
Color Level: Green
Recommendations and considerations:
12/06/2025 staff notes: Yuffie had fun out at Betty's Brigade. She was waiting patiently in line while other dogs were around. She was having a lot of fun running and jumping in the trailer of toys.
