Story
Khloe is an incredibly sweet girl. She loves to be your companion throughout the day. Her second favorite thing to hanging out with you will be playing with other dogs; everyone is a potential new friend. She is so social that being alone can be a growth opportunity: she needs a steady hand and someone patient to handle her struggles when left alone. When she’s with a person though, she’s a charmer and magnetic. If you’re someone who is experienced with dogs I think this would be a great fit.

Story
Meet Mac! Your adventure buddy, he loves the outdoors. And most importantly, loves to chill inside with the family. He is professionally trained and wonderful with cats. Highlights: Mac has been working with trainers for six months. He is great in the home and with cats. He struggles with the resource guarding and leash reactivity. He either needs an experienced owner, or an owner who is open to receiving guidance from his current owners. he is up-to-date on all of his medical needs. strengths: very gentle and kind with cats. Very cuddly with humans once comfortable. Very obedient when given structure. Has built very good leash etiquette. challenges: like all huskies, he is opinionated and vocal. He needs support from humans who will make sure that strangers and other dogs give him the space that he needs to feel safe. Another husky trait, he guards his food. With help from humans, he is learning to not be anxious about his food

Story
My ex-boyfriend's 2 dogs had puppies- they are now around 1.5 years old. He asked me to watch them for a few days and unfortunately never returned and will not respond to my outreach. I am a renter in Philly and am not allowed to have dogs per my lease. Additionally, I am a General Manager of a business and work extreme hours where I am not home. I want Daken to have a happy life. Daken is a sweet and loving dog. He is playful and has an amazing personality. He loves to play and loves his toys. Desperate to find Daken a home as soon as possible.

Story
Ghost is a super sweet and friendly 4 year old Husky Mix. Currently we are looking for a new home for Ghost because she has made it very clear that she would do better in a home with a fenced in yard. And I do not have the means right now to provide her with the life that she deserves. She is a very active young gal who loves to run and roam freely, without the restricting nature of a leash. Ghost is house trained and uses an indoor grass potty in a designated area of the house. Ghost gets along well with cats and children from Infancy-Adults. Ghost can be weary of Men and new people/strangers but warms up well/quickly. Ghost has TONS of energy, but will also settle down nicely for family nap time. Ghost loves her outside time and will often stay outside for up to 2 hours if allowed. Ghost does not bark, or jump, and would not be a very good guard dog. Ghost is an awesome family friendly dog who loves to be active, loves to swim and loves to go on hikes.

Story
Sir Charles is happy, loving and playful 1 to 2 yr old boy. He is mostly quiet, but will “talk” or get mouthy when he wants something to eat, play or go out. Sir Charles adores people, both big and small. He just wants to shower people with affection and be loved. When it comes to other dogs, Sir Charles is not a fan. No cats or small animals for Sir Charles. He would do best as the only pet in the home. Sir Charles is housebroken. He is crate trained and likes to lounge in his crate. When it comes to toys, Sir Charles is all in! Plush squeekie toys keep his entertained, he plays nicely with toys and doesn’t tear them up. He loves to play fetch outdoors and indoors. Sir Charles will retrieve as long as you are willing to toss a toy. Sir Charles enjoys going on walks and playtime in the yard. This active boy will benefit from a Husky savvy family as he needs continued training as he will pull on leash when he sees dogs and wildlife. Sir Charles has shown improvement with his leash training Before Sir Charles came into rescue, he was suspected of being hit by a car so it’s no surprise that he gets skittish with loud noises, trucks, loud cars etc. However, he is not bothered by fireworks or thunder when he is in the house. Charles is comical and will keep you laughing, he likes to try to climb trees to catch squirrels. This loving boy thinks he is a lap dog and enjoys a snuggle with his family. Sir Charles has so much to give and so much potential. With the right family, the best is yet to be! Sir Charles’ Back Story When found, this brave boy was suspected of being hit by a car. He managed to drag himself to safety before collapsing in someone’s yard. Animal Control brought Charles to a shelter where he was examined by the staff veterinarian, but his injuries were traumatic so he was transported to an emergency hospital where he could receive the critical care he needed. After diagnostic testing, Charles' prognosis was guarded He had multiple issues including pneumothorax (a large volume of air in his chest cavity), a degloving injury (severe separation of tissue separated from muscle) to his lower lip, broken teeth, several lacerations on his body and a small foreign body in his stomach (unrelated to his recent trauma) Immediately, he underwent a chest tap to remove the air from his chest, was put on pain medication and stabilized on a chest tube. While in the hospital, Charles’ sweet nature endeared him to the staff. Despite his condition, he tolerated all the procedures and exams with no issue. His love of people compelled him to try to give kisses even when his injured mouth was causing him pain! Within a few days this resilient boy made great strides towards recovery and was able to be discharged from the hospital. Thanks to a wonderful, experienced DVSHR foster family who offered to welcome Charles into their home, we were able to take Charles into rescue. Sir Charles underwent further surgery to remove the foreign body in his stomach. Surprisingly, the veterinarian found and removed a rock AND a piece of glass! Charles made a full recovery and is doing well. Interested in adopting? Visit our website today at www.siberianhuskyrescue.org and complete an adoption application. Story
Loba is a very intelligent, active girl. She needs to be busy and have toys to stimulate her. Loba is good with other dogs but would NOT do well with small animals including cats. Loba is a true cuddle bug. She needs a special person to latch onto. She has some jealousy tendencies when it comes to sharing so she may benefit from being an only dog or paired with a very tolerant canine companion. Loba is good with kids, but due to her exuberance children 10 and up would be best. Loba is great in the car. She enjoys a walk but still needs someone to continue her leash training. Loba is a true gem looking for a special family to share many great memories. If you are interested in possibly adopting Loba, submit DVSHR’s online Adoption Application here: https://www.siberianhuskyrescue.org/loba/ Potential Adopters MUST reside in our region of PA, NJ, DE & MD. Story
Meet Frankie! Frankie is a 1 year old male Siberian Husky looking for his forever home. Frankie is the daddy to litter of puppies adopted out over the summer. Frankie is very affectionate and will give you lots of kisses and likes to cuddle. Frankie is dog and people friendly. He is being fostered with 2 other dogs. Ideally Frankie would do best with a dominant female dog in the household. He plays less rough with females. Frankie is very active so lots of exercise and play time is a must. He loves going to the dog park. Frankie is ok in the crate, we are still working with him to further his crate training. Frankie takes food and treats from your hands very gently. True to the Siberian Husky breed, Frankie is an escape artist. He can easily jump a 4ft fence. A secure 6ft fence or a strong lead outside is a must. Frankie enjoys going on walks and walks well with a collar that prevents pulling. Frankie loves toys and chews. Lots of toys are a must or he might get bored and resort to his own form of interior renovation. Bath time, no worries, Frankie loves water! Frankie is somewhat of a typical Husky talker, but not often throughout today. He speaks most when he's playing or wants something. Frankie weighs 54lbs. He is neutered and up to date on vaccinations. If you’re an active family with lots of time to devote to this cuddly boy, you and Frankie may be a match for each other! If you are interested in adopting Frankie, submit DVSHR’s online Adoption Application here: www.siberianhuskyrescue.org/adoption-application Adoption Application Requirements: • Veterinary Reference • Personal References – no relatives; not more than one person from same household. • Phone Interview • Home Check Visit Please Understand: • Please allow 5-7 days for a response. • Any missing information will delay your application. • DVSHR evaluates applicants on the best match for each dog; not a first-come, first-served basis. • Placement of each dog is at the discretion of the dog’s foster home. Story
Chew Bacca is looking for her furever home. This lovely girl recently turned three years old. Chew Bacca may be a little timid at first but warms to people quickly. She is very affectionate and gives lots of kisses and loves to cuddle. Chewie, as we like to call her, is quick to show you her belly for some tummy rubs and will climb in your lap when you sit on the floor, or on a recliner. Chewie enjoys going on walks and does well with a collar that prevents pulling. Chewie's history isn't exactly clear, but she may have trust issues with other dogs, at least in the beginning. Chewie is fostered with two female Siberian Huskies. Her foster home is working with a trainer to help Chewie to overcome her issues with food when it comes to other dogs. Chewie has improved over the past month and is showing promise integrating with her foster mates. Chewie's current play style with other dogs is very rough. She would do best as an only dog or maybe with a dominant male dog. No cats or small animals for Chewie due to her strong prey drive. Chewie takes food and treats from your hands very gently. On her trips to the vet’s office, she is a good little co-pilot, sitting nicely in the car. Chewie loves toys and chews! Lots of toys and exercise are a must or she might get bored and resort to her own form of interior renovation. True to the Siberian Husky breed, Chewie may try to dart out doors and would likely jump a 4ft fence with ease. A secure 6ft fence or a strong lead outside is a must. Chewie is continuing her crate training, she accepts feeding inside her crate, but gets stressed if no one is in the room with her while in the crate. Chewie is an adorable, affectionate girl who loves to cuddle with her people. If you’re an active family with time to devote to this loving girl, you and Chewie may be a match for each other! If you are interested in adopting Chewie, submit DVSHR’s online Adoption Application here: www.siberianhuskyrescue.org/adoption-application Adoption Application Requirements: • Veterinary Reference • Personal References – no relatives; not more than one person from same household.
