Story
She came to me by showing up in my backyard, did everything to find her owner but nobody claimed her. She is a jumper, I have a 5½ ft tall chain link fence, and the lower parts of it she can climb/jump over. Very sweet, and only barks when she needs to alert me of something. Will also be including a cage, and leashes as well.

Story
Age: 3 years Weight: 40 lbs Good with dogs: Yes Good with cats: Unknown Good with kids: Unknown Activity level: High Shedding Level: High Training: Basic, Leash Skylar is a gorgeous husky/shepherd mix with striking blue eyes. He is about 3 years old. Skylar had been injured during his time on the streets and had TPLO surgery on his leg last year. He has since recovered nicely. He absolutely loves to run and play! He likes to try to be in charge, but takes correction well. He loves to play with other dogs and get out his energy. He gets nervous with quick movements and takes a minute to adjust to new people and situations. With a little patience and plenty of treats he will warm right up and ask for pets. Once he is comfortable, he loves pets, giving kisses, and cuddling! He will even gently reach over and pull your hand back with his paw if you stop petting him before he is ready.  Skylar finished his training on basic obedience commands and socialization and is ready for a foster or forever home! Does Skylar sound like your kind of guy? Email placement@duckteam6.org or visit our website to fill out an application.May 10, 2026, 12:12 am

Story
Meet Mars! Mars is a happy, playful, and energetic girl whoâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s searching for a home that loves to stay active and have fun together. She's 20 pounds and a bit over a year old. She thrives with people who enjoy getting out, trying new things, and including their dog in everyday adventures. Her ideal home is without small dogs and younger kids. Mars is very food-motivated, which makes training easier and rewarding. She already knows sit, spin, and can even spin around you, and sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s excited to learn more with the right person by her side! With her enthusiasm and bright personality, Mars would be a fantastic match for someone looking for a dog to train, explore with, and truly bond with. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * If you have a specific question about Mars II, then please email newdigs@dallaspetsalive.org. Story
Shorty is a 3â€Âׂ-year-old Siberian Husky with a story of resilience and quiet strength. Weighing about 55 pounds, he is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and has completed treatment for heartworms. For nearly two years, Shorty survived alongside a small pack of dogs at a local Walmart—each of them now safe and adopted. Now it’s his turn to find a place to call home. Unlike the typical husky, Shorty is more reserved and low-key. He isn’t especially vocal or high-energy, and he tends to be shy in new environments. But give him time, patience, and a few treats, and you’ll see his gentle personality begin to shine. He forms bonds slowly, but meaningfully, and will thrive with someone who understands that trust is built over time. Shorty is looking for a husky-savvy, experienced adopter who can provide a calm, stable environment. Life on the streets left him with both physical and emotional scars. He has healed from multiple serious injuries, including fractures in his front left leg, back left leg, and C7 spine, likely from high-impact trauma, as well as a gunshot wound to his front left leg. Because of this, he will need pain medication as needed for the rest of his life. Despite everything he’s been through, Shorty remains incredibly gentle. He is dog-friendly and enjoys the company of other dogs, though true to his breed, he would prefer a cat-free home. He is also leash trained, potty trained, and crate trained—ready to settle into a routine with the right person. Shorty’s journey hasn’t been easy, but he’s ready for a fresh start. With patience, understanding, and love, he will be a deeply loyal and rewarding companion. This pet is participating in the Dallas Pets Alive rehoming program.
