Story
Meet Brutus, a 3-year-old male Husky.*Update*Brutus is doing great and loves the staff. He is always happy to hit the play yard and thinks toys and enrichment are the best. Like most boys the way to his heart is through his stomach.Brutus was brought to the adoption center after being trapped in the city of Wapato. He has been understandably unsure of all the action going on around him but has slowly been coming out of his shell. Brutus isn't up to walks yet but is okay to take into the yard on leash. He does best with a calm approach and may be too shy for kids at this time. Brutus may be more used to an outdoor lifestyle but has been adapting remarkably well. He has hung out in the adoption center managers office and was chill with her small male dog. This pet is available for adoption on 12/8/23 at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. If you recognize this animal please contact the adoption center at 509-457-6854.If you are interested in adopting this pet please fill out an adoption questionnaire at www.yakimahumane.org. A Yakima Humane Society staff member will contact you once your questionnaire has been processed. Adopters are welcome to visit the adoption center Monday-Saturday. A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known. Adding a pet to your family is a big responsibility. Please research carefully and remember that adoption is life saving. Adopt Don't Shop.

Story
Meet Sarabi, a four year old Husky mix. Sarabi came to us with an imbedded collar. She was brought in with Mufasa who also had an imbedded collar and her puppies which have since been transferred to another shelter for adoption. Sarabi's neck has healed nicely and she is now ready for a home to call her own. At 48 pounds this girl is a fantastic medium size. She is so friendly we joke she would go home with just about anyone. This leggy girl does jump up and put her paws on you but she is very gentle about it. We can't wait for her to find the home she has always deserved. If you are interested in adopting this pet please fill out an adoption questionnaire at www.yakimahumane.org. A Yakima Humane Society staff member will contact you once your questionnaire has been processed. Story
Arora has made everyone smile with her fun loving and playful personality. She is a very smart gal who loves to work and shines best when she has something to focus her attention on. She knows the command sit and give great eye contact letting you know she is in tune and ready to learn. She is playful with other dogs, but may do best with a male dog in the home and no chickens. She LOVES her outdoor time so a fenced yard where she can hang out and enjoy the fresh air will make this gal smile. Arora is learning to be polite on leash and is looking for a home who can continue the work we have started.
