Story
Meet Maluma, a four month old Husky/Malamute weighing 43 pounds.Maluma is a stunning boy with mesmerizing mismatched eyes and a personality just as bold as his looks! He came to us with his sister after their previous home had too many animals, and now he’s ready to find a forever family of his own. This handsome pup is going to be a big boy, and he already has the personality to match—he’s talkative, a little dramatic, and definitely not shy about letting you know how he feels! Maluma can be a bit mouthy and will need guidance as he grows, but he’s also incredibly fun, engaging, and full of life. With his likely Husky/Malamute mix, Maluma will need a home committed to training, structure, and plenty of socialization. These breeds are known for being intelligent, energetic, and sometimes a little stubborn, so consistency and patience are key. They thrive with both mental and physical activity, often needing daily exercise and enrichment to stay happy and well-behaved . Early training and socialization will help him grow into a confident, well-mannered adult.Maluma is looking for an active home that understands his needs and is ready to embrace his big personality. If you’re ready for a smart, silly, and striking companion, Maluma might just be your perfect match. This pet is available for adoption on 4.10.26 at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. Story
Meet Polar, a two-year-old Siberian Husky mix weighing around 50 pounds.Polar is a striking young dog with beautiful ice-blue eyes. He was brought in as a stray and is still figuring out the world around him, so he can seem a little unsure at first. However, every day he’s showing more confidence and starting to warm up as he learns he’s safe.On leash, Polar enjoys taking his time to explore. He’s very much a “follow his nose” kind of guy, taking in all the scents and sights at his own pace. He’s not in a rush—he’s observant, curious, and steadily building trust with the people around him.Based on his appearance and temperament, Polar likely has Siberian Husky traits. Siberian Huskies are intelligent, independent, and energetic working dogs originally bred to pull sleds over long distances in harsh Arctic conditions. They are known for their endurance, strong prey drive, and love of exploration. Huskies are often social and friendly, but can be a bit aloof or independent-minded, especially in new environments. They tend to thrive with patient handling, consistent structure, and plenty of physical and mental stimulation.Polar is still adjusting, but with time, patience, and gentle guidance, he’s likely to continue blossoming into a confident and engaging companion. He’s looking for someone who understands his independent spirit and is ready to help him grow at his own pace. This pet is available for adoption on 4/19/2026 at 5:19 PM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center.
