Imagine a life with a serene and gentle snow dog? Meet our lovely 2yr old laid-back girl Luna🌙. She and her 2 puppies needed rescue so we stepped up, she deserves a life of luxury and is ready for her forever home🏡 . Her foster mom says she adores to spend time with her humans to get plenty of pets and bellyrubs, and also unwinds a lot during the day. She’s house trained, loves daily walks, is great on a leash and seems to enjoy her peaceful environment😸. She might be best as an only dog cuz she truly thinks she is a princess👑 but never rule out a sibling. She's a bigger girl weighing in at 62lbs but she wears it well. She's truly an awesome choice and she's waiting to hear from you! She's chipped, vaccinated and spayed so look into that sweet face and get your application in ASAP cuz she's excited to meet you!!😻 Currently being cared for in Southern California, Luna can be transported to northern states such as Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, or other locations within the continental United States, where a loving family awaits to welcome the sweet girl.

Story
"Jake" is an approx 5-yo, well-over 100-lb neutered male Malamute (??) mix who is simply the sweetest, most mellow, gentle giant you'd ever want to meet! Jake is vaccinated and microchipped. I've never been so stumped on a dog's primary breed as I am with Jake. Though the shelter he came from (Merced County animal shelter) listed Jake as a Malamute mix, I'm not sure that's his primary breed. He does have a deep chest, extraordinarily thick coat and short, perky ears like a Malamute. However, he does not have a Malamute's characteristic curled tail, and his sabled coloring is very different from a Malamute. Nonetheless, we have to pick a primary breed to describe Jake, so for now it's Malamute. Jake is surely one of the friendliest dogs you'll ever meet. He not only loves meeting new people, he is immediately affectionate with whoever shows him affection. Though I have not observed Jake with children, I wouldn't hesitate placing him in a home with even toddlers; he is just that gentle. Jake is fantastic with the other dogs at GSRSV's rescue ranch. He loves to chase one of my more active dogs in play, and has never even been close to a fight. I'm sure that Jake would be good w/ small dogs and likely cats as well. Jake is completely housetrained. He alternates between hanging out on the front porch and inside the house (via a dog door). He's not a very active dog; he pretty much lays around most of the day. When I walked Jake at Southside Park in Sacramento after receiving him from the transporter, he did great on leash. (I haven't had him on leash since.) Jake LOVES to go for rides in a vehicle. I haven't seen Jake play with toys nor swim in the pond here. While Jake is healthy in general, his hips are not good. He walks and runs with a somewhat stiff gait, and came to GSRSV's rescue ranch acting like a much older dog--likely due to his overweight condition and the 3 1/2 months he had spent at the Merced County Animal Shelter with little exercise. I immediately put Jake on a crash diet, and let the freedom of 45 acres to romp on and several other dogs to play with work their magic. Jake is way more mobile now than when he first came to GSRSV, but he will never be a long-distance hiker. I give Jake both a high-quality glucosamine/chondroitin/MSM supplement daily, as well as CBD oil. I also give him a two 81 mg safety-coated aspirin daily. I will recommend that his adopter continue with these supplements. It will also be extremely important for whoever adopts Jake to exercise him regularly and often to keep his joints from becoming overly stiff and to minimize his calorie intake, as Jake has a very slow metabolism. Jake LOVES to eat! GRSRV rescued Jake in January 2025. His adoption fee is $250.

Story
Ash is a rescue dog who lived a hard life. When I got him 5 years ago he was very afraid of men. He has a missing back paw due to abuse. He does have food aggression but has been trainable in a lot of areas. He does not like to be indoors and he prefers to be able to watch over the home perimeter. If he is cold he will come in for some cuddles. He has been wonderful around my own children but not all children had the best reaction from him. He is very much a guard dog through and through.

Story
Marlow is a good friendly dog. She has problems with being bored and being left alone. She tends to escape when left alone. I think some small training would help her and a great loving family, with a lot of time and space would be perfect. Unfortunately, I am relocating and cannot have a big dog, like her. She is 1 years old (11/12/2024). Great around dogs and kids (5 years old+).
