Story
I am 95lbs, 1 year old, and I am seeking my forever home! Adoption Donation: $400 I am a very sweet and well-behaved boy, with puppy playfulness. I love, love, love going for car rides. I am house and crate trained. I'm very smart; I know "sit", "quiet", "heel", "hugs", and "off". In the summer, I love playing in the sprinkler. I've been told I'm a lover and a great kisser! I'm a good boy going to the vet. All dogs are microchipped, neutered, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested (if age appropriate), and up-to-date on preventatives at the time of adoption. An application is required to view our adoptable pets. All household members and any dogs from the household need to be present to be able to adopt. A photo ID will be required at the time of adoption. Appointments are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. All applications are considered general. Specific animals are NOT put on hold for adoption. When you visit, our adoption counselors will be able to make suggestions based on the type of pet you are looking for and help you find the best fit for your family. Animal House Shelter cannot guarantee the breeds of the adoptable animals. The animals are posted on the website as the breed or breed mix based on their physical characteristics they most resemble. Story
Oh sweet Luna Some may remember Luna, she was pulled a little over a year ago from a high kill shelter. Her days were numbered and we got her out just in time. Her owner had surrendered her as a wolf hybrid and bc of that her fate was sealed from the get go and she was scheduled to die. We KNEW Luna was not a wolf, soon after pulling we ordered a DNA kit and sure enough. She didn't even have an ounce of wolf in her. She would have died for absolutely nothing! Luna is German Shepherd, Alaskan Malamute and Great Pyrenees. She is around 3 years of age and a very loving, quiet sweet girl. She is shy when meeting new people but once she gets to know you all she really wants is some love and a lap to lay her beautiful head in! Let's find Luna a home.. She told us she was ready! :) Luna must have a homeowner with a large fenced yard. She prefers to be outdoors as she was raised sadly on a chain outside by the family that surrendered her. She's never been indoors so she is not housebroken but a very docile, quiet, smart dog and we know she would love the inside *Part of the family* life if someone would offer her their heart. She's never known this. She is not good with cats, again as she has never been around them so her natural instinct as with most any dog not raised with cats is to chase them. She's a WONDERFUL dog just needs someone to give her a chance.

Story
Shady is a gorgeous Alaskan Malamute, estimated to be 2-3 years old, weighing just 45 lbs (she is currently a bit underweight). Although young, Shady is calm, mild-mannered and attentive to commands. She’s very good with other dogs and loves people too. Shady walks nicely on a leash. She enjoys hanging out with her canine friends in the secure fully-fenced yard at her foster home. An ideal family for Shady is one with experience with the Alaskan Malamute breed and a full awareness of their temperament, as well as their care; regular grooming is a notable part of their care. And of course a solid vet history for past dogs is required. Shady is fully vetted, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested and on year-round heartworm prevention, spayed and microchipped. If you are interested in meeting Shady and possibly adding her to your family, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895 to obtain an adoption application. Note that BAARK is located in Barrington and adopts only local to the NW Suburbs of Chicago.

Story
Nova is a 6 year old red and white malamute that came in with Sequoia and Luna. Sequoia seems particularly bonded to her. While these three do very well with each other, they have displayed some dislike toward other dogs of both sexes, especially when they are together a pack. Nova is a very tall girl and presents herself as the reserved lady of the the three, putting up with their shenanigans and maintaining her dignity. Her clown comes out every so often. Story
Rocky and Hunter found themselves dumped in rural Minnesota, where thankfully, a Good Sam stepped in and took them in. Tried for months to locate owners, and none could be found (dogs were not chipped) and so they came to IAMRA. Both Rocky and Hunter absolutely love humans and can’t get enough attention. Rocky is an absolute goof ball who will walk himself on lead and has the cutest overbite. He has settled a lot in group and is finding success navigating the yard with our other dogs. Hunter is a little more dog selective, but it learning to be comfortable around more dogs and has shifted from serious to a softer self. Hunter when he wants attention will do adorable nibbles almost grooming his human to get some attention! Hunter and Rocky have made a big change of environment and are still adjusting to the urban area. The trainers at Zen Dogs are working with them everyday to adjust to this change and are finding success with the use of food and some fun!
