Story
Meet Sherlock, a 5-year-old Alaskan Malamute mix weighing 66 pounds of fluff, charm, and loyal companionship. While his name may belong to a famous detective, Sherlock's favorite case to crack is figuring out where his people are and how he can be closest to them. This handsome boy is happiest when he's spending time with his family, whether that's hanging out around the house, exploring the yard, or joining you for a nice long walk. Sherlock has settled beautifully into his foster home and has proven to be house trained with excellent indoor manners. He keeps his living space tidy and sleeps quietly in his crate at night. During the day, however, he'd much rather be with his people than tucked away in a crate. He forms strong bonds with his family and would thrive in a home where someone is around much of the time. Friendly but not over-the-top, Sherlock enjoys meeting new people and has done well with everyone, including children ranging from toddlers to teenagers. Like most dogs, he appreciates having his boundaries respected and will let you know when he's had enough attention. Sherlock enjoys toys, car rides, chewing on bones, and following his favorite humans from room to room. He walks nicely on leash and already has some obedience training under his belt. He also has a playful side and loves spending time outdoors. Long walks are right up his alley, and if there's a squirrel, rabbit, or bird nearby, Sherlock will be the first to spot it! Because Sherlock can become bored when left alone for extended periods, he'll need a committed adopter who can provide structure, supervision, and plenty of companionship. A fenced yard isn't required, but it would certainly be Sherlock's dream come true. He loves having space to explore, stretch his legs, and keep watch over the neighborhood wildlife. Sherlock is searching for a home with experienced dog owners who understand large, intelligent breeds and are looking for a devoted companion who wants to be part of the family. If you're looking for a loyal shadow, a walking buddy, and a best friend wrapped in a gorgeous fluffy coat, Sherlock may be the perfect match. His minimum adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
Meet Inari, a 5-year-old Akita mix weighing 86 pounds of fluffy, lovable goodness. This sweet girl is the definition of a gentle giant, with a heart every bit as big as her impressive floof. Inari is friendly with everyone she meets and is happiest when she's surrounded by people who are willing to shower her with attention. If you're looking for a dog who will happily soak up every pet, ear scratch, and belly rub you have to offer, Inari is ready to clock in for the job. While Inari could benefit from shedding a few pounds, she’s embracing her journey one tail wag at a time. With a loving family, regular activity, and plenty of encouragement, she'll be well on her way to feeling her best. If your idea of the perfect companion is a sweet, fluffy best friend who believes there's no such thing as too much affection, Inari may be the missing piece you've been looking for. Her minimum adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
