Adoption Fee Sponsored by Shadow 🐾 Meet Ruby: The Sweetheart with a Gentle Soul. Ruby, a magnificent approximately seven-year-old American Bulldog mix, is a perfect blend of brawn and boundless affection. Don't let her age fool you; this outgoing girl still has plenty of pep in her step, always ready for an adventure or a vigorous play session that belies her senior status. She’s not just energetic, though—Ruby is a certified charmer who has mastered the adorable "sit pretty" command, demonstrating her intelligence and her eagerness to please. Beyond the tricks and the zoomies, Ruby's most defining characteristic is her unwavering friendliness; she's never met a stranger and consistently greets both humans and other friendly dogs with a wagging tail and an open heart. When the day is done and her playful spirit is finally winding down, she transforms into the ultimate snuggle expert, requiring nothing more than to nestle right up next to her favorite person for a cozy, contented night's sleep. This gem is currently waiting to find her forever home at 13391 Garner Lane, Chico, CA. Rest assured, like all of her shelter friends, Ruby is completely up-to-date on all vaccines and preventatives and is spayed, ensuring she is happy, healthy, and ready to become a cherished member of your family. She’s proof that the best things in life—like a dog's unwavering love—are simply waiting to be adopted. All dogs that are adopted from Butte Humane Society come microchipped, spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccines, placed on preventions for heartworm, and flea and tick-borne illnesses. Story
This pet is in a foster home. Please call to schedule an appointment. Hello, my name is Lenore and I would like to tell you a little bit about myself.  I am a bit shy when I meet a new person.  My foster mom has been introducing me to new people and situations, but it takes me time to realize that it isn't scary.  I really enjoy playing with the other dogs at my home and I like to be around my human. I know how to use a dog door and love to hang out on the couch. .  A patient home that has the time to teach me how to be my best self would be best for me. I have a lot of love to give.  Please consider me as your forever companion. No small dogs or cats. Excited to find your new family member at Wags and Whiskers? Our pets are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered. Many come from unknown backgrounds, so please consider the 10+ year commitment. Schedule an appointment today!   Call 530-895-8888.   We don't offer holds; pets can be adopted anytime. Schedule an appt or simply   Apply to adopt Applied in the last 6 months? Just call!

Story
Juneau is a special girl looking for a special family! Juneau is about 10 months old, and she is a sweet girl who loves treats and being with her people and dog friends. Juneau came to us as a young puppy after being raised on the streets. She has blossomed in foster care and is now ready to find her fur-ever home. Juneau currently weighs about 60lbs and may grow a little bit bigger. Juneau was transferred to us from our friends at BONES Pet Rescue. She was found with her three brothers on the nearby Native American reservation without their mom. After some TLC with BONES, the puppies were transferred to us. The three boys have been adopted, so now it's Juneau's turn to have her happy ever after ending. Juneau is a bashful and submissive girl who will need a patient family. She is shy of new people and unsure of new things and being in new places, but once you earn her trust, she is such a wonderful companion. She loves cuddles on the couch and will happily keep you company while you work from home or get chores done around the house. Food is definitely the way to her heart. She is starting to go on walks and has been doing better and better every day. Juneau is a goofy puppy who loves playing - especially with the other dogs in her foster home. She will need a committed family that understands that she needs lots of time to build trust. We are looking for someone with large-dog experience, extra points if you have owned a fearful dog before. Juneau loves other dogs and has been a great playmate to lots of other foster puppies who have been cared for in her foster home. Having a confident dog buddy really helps Juneau feel safe, so she will need a friendly dog sibling in her new home to help her succeed. Juneau currently lives with dog-savvy cats and can be pretty obnoxious trying to play with them. With a slow introduction and proper supervision, she may do well living with other dog-savvy cats, but would be too much to live with shy cats. Juneau has been doing well living with teenagers. Juneau is house and crate trained. She is happy to sleep in her crate overnight and hang out in there during the workday. She needs a home with a backyard and would do best in a quiet neighborhood, as she will alert you to unknown noises outside. Juneau deserves to find a great family to love her as much as we do.  If you think that might be you, fill out an application today!   Juneau's adoption fee is $300.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. October 19, 2025, 5:06 pm
