Story
Brandy was found completely emaciated showing every bone she had.  She was dirty and in some desperate need for some TLC. After a few weeks of food and care Brandy became very grateful.  She is one of the sweetest girls ever.  It might take some time when meeting new people to come around but when she does she's extremely loving.  While Brandy has associated with a few other dogs, she is typically very dog aggressive and should be kept as an only dog unless professional training corrects this trait. Brandy has lots of love to give and would make a great addition to any home without pets/small children. As of 10/10/16 it's estimated Brandy is 5 years old.  Her heart worm status is yet to be known as she hasn't been vetted yet.  Brandy is house trained but may need a refresher course once in her new environment.  If interested in beautiful Brandy please submit an application to www.socorescue.com.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 30, 2023, 10:54 am

Story
***Shiloh is currently located at our shelter in Georgia. He is also available for adoption in the NJ and surrounding areas. If interested in adopting Shiloh, please submit an application at socorescue.com*** After their living situation abruptly changed, Shiloh's former owners had no other choice than to surrender him to their local shelter. They had sought help from various shelters and rescues in their area to only to find that all were full and unable to help, leaving the county shelter as their only option. Brokenhearted, the family refused to give up and eventually came across the phone number for SoCo Rescue. With just one spot open, we were able to take Shiloh into our rescue. While a bit confused and uncertain when he first arrived, Shiloh presented himself as a very friendly dog. He quickly became friends with all of our staff, has been well-mannered and easy going. He's playful, smart and simply loves people. He was dog selective while at his former home but hasn't been overly reactive towards other dogs at our rescue. We would recommend a meet-and-greet with any other dogs that Shiloh would share a home with prior to an adoption. According to his former owner, Shiloh would best be suited in a home without other dogs or any cats but did excellent around children.  Shiloh is up to date on all of his annual vaccinations, de-wormings and monthly preventatives. He's been neutered and recently tested negative for heartworms. While his former owner gave Shiloh an excellent rating on his house training skills, Shiloh may need a refresher course once in a new home. Applications for Shiloh can be submitted at socorescue.com.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 30, 2023, 10:54 am

Story
Kona (formerly Collette) was adopted as a puppy but was returned after several month when the family felt she wasn’t the right match with their small kids.  She was a puppy with lots of energy and that scared the kids. She is now in a loving foster home with 2 other dog’s that give her a run for her money!  Kona needs a family that is going to exercise her or that has a large backyard to run & play. She is super sweet and is very smart. It helps Kona if she has a strict schedule, a routine, and a dog she can play with. She is eager to please her master but tends to be insecure with strangers. Kona needs someone who gives her time to adjust and doesn't push her to "socialize". She is house trained, crate trained and fully vaccinated until April 2022.    ——————- Kona (formerly Collette) and  her three sisters came to our rescue as owner surrenders. While the owner didn't want to also surrender their mom, she has agreed to let us have the mom dog spayed. Kona’s mom is a bulldog mix, approximately 50 lbs. and has a very sweet personality. If Kona’s beautiful amber colored eyes don't capture your heart, her extremely friendly and loving personality will! Kona thrives on human contact and also loves playing with other dogs. This stunningly beautiful girl will make a great addition into just about any home. Kona is spayed, up to date with vaccines & preventatives.  She comes with a microchip too!. To apply for the adoption of Kona , please submit an application at socorescue.com (no phone calls please)  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 30, 2023, 10:54 am

Story
***Baron is currently at one of our foster homes in Georgia. He is available for adoption both in the Georgia and New Jersey areas with transportation to the north covered. To apply for the adoption of Baron, please first submit an application at socorescue.com. Questions about Baron and/or our adoption policy should be directed to socorescue8@gmail.com. Please do not call the number listed for SoCo as the staff in Georgia stays very busy and is unable to field calls at this time.*** Like a death row inmate awaiting the call from the Governor, Baron was really praying that his stay of execution would also come in time. He was locked up at the Laurens Co Animal Control and out of "time" in which to have a licensed rescue pull him. A few days earlier, Baron met a nice man who came and took other dogs out of the troubled animal control, even stopped to speak with Baron. And while this man promised to come back for him, Baron was beginning to believe the man had forgotten him. But then Baron heard a familiar voice call out to him and say "See, I told you I was coming back for you!" Standing there before him was the same nice man he'd met a few days earlier and he was carrying a leash. Baron's stay of execution came through just in the nick of time. Baron learned that this man was named Scott and he was with a dog rescue called SoCo Rescue. Baron didn't fully understand what all that meant, but he sure was happy to be out of that animal control an n the SoCo Rescue bus.  Baron's first stop was to see a vet where he was tested for heartworms, which his test results came back negative, and he received a bevy of vaccinations,  de-wormers and other things that didn't taste real good but were very good for him. From there, Mr. Scott took him to a foster home where he's been since. During that time Baron was also neutered and has been kept on his monthly preventatives. He's also proven to be very friendly to people and other dogs, even getting along great with his foster family's older dog. Baron has also displayed some house training experience but may need additional training once in his new home. There's no doubt that Baron will make a great family companion. To apply for the adoption of Baron, please submit an application at socorescue.com. If chosen to adopt Baron, a SoCo team member will contact you ASAP. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 30, 2023, 10:54 am

Story
Sailor Bay has been fully vetted and is ready for adoption.   If interested, please complete an application at www.socorescue.com. Sailor Bay is currently in a foster home in NJ.  The good thing about being is fostered is that we can learn all about the dog's personality and give it lots of training. Sailor Bay is house trained and crate trained.  She is an affectionate, easy going pup and enjoys moderate walks and lots of playing especially tug and fetch. She is working on leash training and knows some basic commands including sit, stay, down, come and look.  Sailor Bay loves driving in car and cuddling on the couch!   She comfortably spends time alone and is always happy to see us when we return. After living in a kennel, she put on some weight but living in a home with a yard and regular walks will help her trim down!  She likes meeting other dogs but needs to have a meet and greet with any family dogs.  She does not like cats.  In her GA foster home, she interacted with children and was great with kids of all ages.  She would do best in family with love and time to give as she adjusts to her new life.   A kind woman found Sailor Bay starving and abandoned at her place of work.  She was kind enough to take her in and fostered her for the past year for SoCo rescue.  Sailor Bay is a friendly and playful girl.    Sailor Bay has been spayed and fully vetted. She tested positive for heart worm and has undergone treatment so she is now ready to find her forever true home!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 30, 2023, 10:54 am
