Hi there, I’m Baby Girl! My foster mom calls me Baby 🤍 I may have a little gray on my face, but don’t let that fool you. I still have plenty of life, love, and tail wags left to share! When I first arrived with rescue, everyone thought I was around 12½ years old, but my veterinarian isn’t so sure. They say I’m in remarkably good health and might not be quite as old as originally believed. Whatever my age, I’m choosing to focus on the future and I hope that future includes you. I’ve recently had a fresh start. I underwent surgery to remove several mammary tumors, and while recovery wasn’t always easy, I handled it like a champ. The best news? My vet was able to remove all of the tumors, and my chest X-rays came back clear with no signs of metastasis. Even better, I’m showing everyone just how much better I feel now that those pesky tumors are gone! These days, I’m enjoying the simple things in life. I love short walks, leisurely exploring the yard, cozy naps and spending time with my people. I’m not looking to run marathons, I prefer a slower pace and a family who appreciates life’s quieter moments. If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s this: I am a professional snuggler. Belly rubs and back scritches are my absolute favorite thing on earth. I will happily roll over to collect as many as you’re willing to give. I have so much love to share and am happiest when I’m close to my people. I’m crate trained and actually love my crate. It’s my little comfort cave where I can relax, feel safe, and enjoy some quiet time. I’m a low-maintenance girl who simply wants a soft place to rest, a few adventures around the neighborhood, and a family who will cherish me. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will greet you with a wagging tail, melt into your side for cuddles, and remind you to slow down and enjoy the little things, I might be your perfect match. Sometimes life doesn’t go the way we expect. I never imagined I’d find myself starting over, but now I’m choosing to believe my best chapter is still ahead of me. Maybe that’s with you? Porkchop is seeking a super stable home, with an experienced dog owner.  He can be your couch potato partner if you bribe him with belly rubs, or your backyard companion helping to rid the yard of birds and squirrels (and tennis balls, too!).  Porkchop is super food motivated, so it was easy to train him to sit and we know he'll do great learning lots of other new commands.  He loves to be with his person, and can be somewhat standoffish with new people or situations.  Porkchop will need to be your only dog in the home, or possibly paired with a very docile and confident larger female dog.  Pushy or over friendly dogs don't mesh well with his personality.  No kids or cats for Porkchop, please! Do you value your personal space? If so, Noel is not the girl for you. She likes to be as close as possible. She is a 5-year-old pocket American Bully mix* weighing 48 pounds. She just loves her people and would like to find a family where someone is home a lot of the time. Noel is so sweet and loves belly rubs and giving kisses. She wants to be the only pet in the home because she just deserves all the love. She doesn’t have a huge exercise need and short walks suit her. Noel is a quiet girl and rarely barks. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.BB is a 50lb bundle of energy who's looking for the right home to help him shine. This affectionate pup is a fun-loving, loyal guy who is eager to learn and share adventures. BB is a fairly easy walker who enjoys exploring the park and splashing around in natural waters (pools just aren't really his thing). He would thrive with someone who's home more often than not - he's not a huge fan of being left in his kennel for long stretches. BB has lots of enthusiasm for life and would do best with the company of a playful dog companion, close to his size that is confident and calmer than he is. However, he would also do well as an only pet. When it comes to other animals, he is not a match with smaller dogs or cats. We aren't exactly sure what BB's breed mix is, our volunteers have speculated that he sort of looks and acts like an XL Boston Terrier! Pictures don't do this cutie justice, he really is adorable!  This boy is very food motivated and already knows "sit" and "shake." He loves to play ball and his own version of "catch me if you can," but he is also pretty good about giving up his toys when asked. He is still working on staying calm and keeping four paws on the ground, but with consistency and positive reinforcement, he'll make great progress. With that being said, he would not be a match for a home with young children. With the right outlet for his energy and plenty of love, BB will make a fun and loyal companion. BB's adoption fee is $250 and includes his neuter, microchip, current vaccinations and preventatives. Also included in the adoption fee is a free basic training course at Cedar Run #2 in Hiawatha. I love everyone that comes into my home and I will make sure they know it with lots of kisses and snuggles. My favorite place to be is pressed up against someone’s leg so they don’t forget how much I love them. I am loyal to the core. The only thing I love more than my human friends is food. I love snacks and treats. I am a very smart girl and learn new commands very quickly if you offer me a treat for it. I take medicine every day which makes me happy because that means I get a piece of cheese or some yummy peanut butter to hide it in. De-lish!  Since I am a brilliant girl, I love brain puzzles that keep me from getting bored. Sometimes when I am bored I chew on things that aren’t mine, but I’m willing to learn not to. I like squishy rubber toys better than hard ones. I don’t like kennels but if you let me sleep in bed with you, you won’t hear an objection from me. I love people, but dogs make me nervous.  I would do best if I were your only furry bestie. Loud noises also frighten me like big trucks. I am very skilled at walking on a leash when given clear guidance. I had surgery on my back leg that left me with pins and a plate but you would never tell. My legs are nice and strong now and I love stretching them on daily walks. I am very polite and will let you wipe my feet off before coming inside our home if you ask for my “paw.” (I also know ‘sit,’ ‘lay down,’ ‘wait,’ and ‘off.’ Plus I’m excited to learn more if you bring the treat bag.)  Once I get inside I’m quite the couch potato, especially if you will sit with me. As I said, cuddling is my favorite.  I am quite the slobbery gal but that’s part of my charm! Just thinking about my dinner makes my mouth water, no chicken-based dog food please, it makes me itchy.  I know my natural brindle coat is beautiful but I am a fashionista that never says no to being dressed up.
