Trigger is such a sweet boy. My sister was his owner and she passed away about a year ago. As a family, we thought we could care for him, but we are unable to meet his needs. He is currently living with my mom who is 77 and unable to walk him. My sister got him from a shelter when he was about two years old and he is between 8 and 9.For some reason, he does not like to go up or down stairs inside of a home. A slab or ranch style home would be best. He has no problem claiming stairs at parks or outdoor areas, so we believe something bad happened to him when he was young that makes him avoid indoor stairs. Trigger would do best in a home without other pets. He has lived with other pets, but he is most happy as an only pet. He needs to be walked every day and a fenced in yard would be best. As he has gotten older, he responds better to the pet food that supports senior dogs for easier digestion. He is playful and loving. He loves to cuddle! We love him, just need better for him!

Hi, I`m your new favorite Boxer mix, and before we get too far into this introduction, I should probably address the elephant in the room.My eyes. They`re doing their own thing. One appears to be looking directly into your soul while the other is keeping an eye on something happening three counties over.Am I looking at you, the ceiling, a suspicious object behind your left shoulder? Your guess is as good as mine.The people here can`t seem to look at me without laughing, which I find a little rude considering I`m just standing there minding my own business. Apparently my face is a comedy show, and nobody bothered to tell me I was the entertainment.I came to the shelter as a stray, so my history is a bit of a mystery. When I first arrived, I was pretty shy. I wasn`t sure what to make of all these new people, and I preferred to hang back and figure things out before getting too involved.I`ve been finding my confidence. And apparently, with confidence comes the realization that I have a voice. A very useful voice. If I want attention and you seem to be occupied with something less important, like your job, I may bark at you. Because HELLO? THERE IS A DOG HERE WHO REQUIRES AFFECTION.I`m also a fairly educated lady. I know how to sit, shake, and lay down - ish. Well I understand the concept of laying down. Luckily, I`m very motivated by treats, so I am absolutely willing to continue my studies.And apparently, my preferred communication style is somewhere between a preschool teacher and a grandmother meeting her first grandchild. I love baby talk! I may look like I`m watching two different conversations, but I promise I`m listening to every word.I`m still figuring things out here. Every day I get a little braver, a little more comfortable, and a little more willing to let my goofy personality shine. I may have arrived as a nervous stray, but I`m turning into a funny, affectionate, treat-loving girl who wants someone to pay attention to her.And once you get past the eyes, you`ll realize there`s a whole lot more to love about me. Although, let`s be honest. You`re never really getting past the eyes.
