Story
This beautiful American Bulldog mix absolutely loves attention — all of it! Pets, walks, treats, playtime, even a quick glance her way makes her whole day. Cassie is happiest when she’s with her people and would love nothing more than to devote all her love and energy to her forever family. She came to us as a stray, but from the very first day, her tail hasn’t stopped wagging. Cassie is always up for an adventure and loves meeting new people. What she’s really hoping for now is a family who will love her unconditionally and give her the wonderful life she deserves. Interested in adopting? Please review all adoption requirements listed on our "Adopt" page, including requirements regarding spay/neuter of current pets, regular veterinary care, and home/landlord checks.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
- Sweet and quiet; loves relaxing with her people, chilling on her bed, or chewing on toys - Spent some time in a foster home and enjoyed going on long walks; her family said she can pull a bit, but when they told her to wait she would ease up - Knows sit, down and maybe more - Did great with housetraining in her foster home and only had one or two accidents in the three weeks she spent there; just remember that any dog may need time to get used to a new routine - Enjoys any treats you give her, but especially loves carrots and will chow them right down! - Can be socially awkward around other dogs but did very well with a dog in her foster home - her foster family said they loved to play tug with each other and did well being home alone (dog intro required) - Has not interacted with kids while in our care, but we think she may do best in a calm, mature home - We don't know her history with cats - May have allergies (more info at ARL) This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you're interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to meetme@arl-iowa.org. All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age) The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Primary Color: Black Weight: 64.5 Age: 2yrs 4mths 0wks

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
- Busy pup who loves to connect with people through play and other activities; will likely enjoy physical activity and mental challenges to keep his mind and body busy- Likes toys, including giggle balls, Nylabones and other toys he can chew - Loves to give kisses - Enjoys going on walks and does best with a harness- Doesn't always understand how big he is and could use some work on his manners right now, but he is treat-motivated and would be an excellent fit for positive reinforcement-based training classes - Tends to be a linebacker-type player with other dogs; will likely do best with a select group of rough-and-tumble dog friends with a similar play style (dog intro required) - May be a bit much for young children right now and would likely do best in a home where all family members are big enough and mature enough to enjoy his energy This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. - Loves people and will greet them happily - Knows sit and shake with both paws, and is very food-motivated - Enthusiastic on a leash and can pull hard, so he'll do best with a harness - Has been very uncomfortable around other dogs and needs to be the only dog in his home right now - Young kids are too much for him, so he's looking for a teens-and-up home This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program.
