This saddens me as I’ve had Shamus since he was a baby pup. It has been very difficult for me to find a home to rent who will accept him as well. He’s 11 years old. He absolutely loves people and their attention of course. I believe sometimes he thinks he’s human. He doesn’t really like to play dog games like fetch or even play with dog toys. He’s very content just hanging out with people. Shamus did grow up with other dogs and a cat. It’s only been the last 3 years that he has been the only dog in the house. He always got along with his family dogs, but I’ve noticed he’s not as friendly to stranger dogs on the streets. For e.g, walking on a leash, his hair will stand and he’ll become very attentive in the presence of another dog and tend to pull toward them. Some of it is normal dog behavior, but he doesn’t warm up so easily. He has always been a loving sweet dog towards people. Shamus will do well with either family or individuals who love giving him their upmost attention.

Tempest was found recently as a stray in "ruff" shape.  She was never claimed and that's the best thing for her.  Tempest is very underweight, covered in fleas, her eyes are painful with "cherry eye" and discharge.  We are feeding her puppy food to get a few pounds on her so she can undergo anesthesia to be spayed and have her painful eyes fixed. So far in foster she's fearful of other dogs and would likely enjoy a quiet home as an only dog. He is good with dogs and was cat tested and passed but has not lived with a cat. He is good with kids 7 and up. He loves his walks but does need some training in that department. Pepper is a doll! AATDR saved her from a high kill shelter when she was about to be euthanized. She was so scared in the shelter and has really blossomed and shown us what a happy, loving dog she is! Pepper is about 6 years old. She loves a good game of fetch and running around in the yard, but she's not a high energy girl. She's just as happy to give kisses and cuddles. Since we saved her she's been in boarding, and she's longing to be in a home! Either foster or forever. She can be fostered or adopted either in CT or in the Houston TX area.
