Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement—Kennel License #2617Could he do well with kids? Yes, with children 12 years and older.Could he do well with other dogs? Yes, on a dog-by-dog basis.Has this dog lived with cats? No. [The Lycoming County SPCA does not “cat test” dogs per the Association of Shelter Veterinarian’s Guidelines for Standards of Care in Animal Shelters.]---What volunteers have to say about this animal:Meet Casper – Your Bouncy Best FriendAt just 1 year old, Casper is a big, lovable goofball who is all heart. This 63 lb American Bully sweetheart may start off a little unsure, but once he trusts you, he leans right in for comfort and reassurance. He’s the kind of dog who reminds you every day how joyful life can be when you’ve got a loyal friend by your side. What makes Casper special:- Young and eager to learn, with so much potential- Knows “sit” and is happy to please with a little guidance- Loves leaning in for affection—snuggles are his specialty- Energetic and playful, perfect for an active household- Gains confidence quickly with patience and kindnessCasper Would Love a Home With:- Kids 12+ who can match his energy and help him grow- Another dog, if it’s the right fit and with proper intros- A family ready to give him both structure and snugglesCasper is still figuring out the world, but with a patient and loving home, he’ll blossom into the best companion. He’s a little unsure at first, but once he realizes you’re his person, he’ll be your biggest fan, your running buddy, and your cuddle partner all rolled into one.---Condensed Staff Assessment Notes: Casper is a young, enthusiastic dog who lacks confidence but is eager to please. Initially hesitant to leave his kennel, he approached me with little coaxing and grew more confident during our walk, although he tends to pull on the leash. He embraced handling, leaning against me for reassurance, but showed signs of stress, like whale-eyed expressions when I touched him while removing his food dish. He recognized the cue `sit` and was easily redirected. He flinched at first, but still sought my attention.During playtime, he struggled with appropriate play, becoming overly rough and enthusiastic, but I was able to calm him. While he rushed toward a stranger, he gave an otherwise appropriate interaction, then quickly lost interest. His introduction to another dog

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. King deserves a Christmas miracle. Could it be you? King is a tender-hearted 1-year-old bully mix who was abandoned and left to fend for himself. The kind person who found him is keeping him safe for now, but he can’t stay there forever. What he needs—what he deserves—is a soft place to land and a human to believe in him. Despite everything he’s been through, King is still full of hope. He’s a lively little guy who lights up for playtime, then burrows into blankets like he’s trying to wrap himself in the warmth he’s been missing. Because he spent so much time alone, he’ll need patient help with housetraining, but he tries so hard to get things right. His heart is in every effort. He plays well with dogs who don’t mind his puppyish enthusiasm, and he’d do best in a home without cats. He’s strong, a bit wiggly, and still learning his leash manners, but he offers something rare in return: the joy of watching a once-forgotten dog grow into the bright, steady soul he was meant to be.   We are unsure how he will do with small children so a meet and greet would be required. King isn’t just looking for a home. He’s looking for a chance. A chance to be loved. A chance to feel safe. A chance to finally belong. If you can open your heart and your home—fostering or adopting—King could have the Christmas he’s been waiting for.And you’ll gain a grateful companion who will treasure you in ways only a rescued dog can. King is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and on monthly heartworm and flea prevention.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ Click here for the ADOPTION APPLICATION if you are interested in adopting this pet. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Deitz is an Old American bulldog mix who is true to his breed. He was born in 2013. When he is not playing hard, he just wants to cuddle and warning... he thinks he is a lap dog. He enjoys chewing on bones, deer antlers, and playing with squeaky toys. A fenced yard would be ideal for his energy. If no fence, daily exercise would be a must for him. He rides great in the car and would be a great dog for hikes and long walks. Don't let his age fool you.. this boy still has lots of energy and love to share. He would do best in a calmer home without a lot of people in and out. He does well with medium to large dogs, small dogs we would not recommend. He is not good with cats. Older/considerate kids would be best for him to play with since he is a solid boy. He seems to do best with women and is slow to warm up to men, but once he trusts you, you’re golden. He came to ODAAT after his human Mom passed away in their home. Deitz stayed by her side for days until they were found by family and sadly, the family was unable to keep him. Understandably so, he will be protective of your family. He would never want to lose you. When applying to adopt through ODAAT, please know that we take pride in placing our animals appropriately based on their needs and personality. We want the best family for them and the perfect fit for your family. All applications are  to choosing an adopter.. This process takes time and we do not adopt out on a "first come first served" basis. Applications are found on our website www.onedogatatime.us. Please watch for a welcome email so we can process your application. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 23, 2025, 7:52 am
