Story
This is Cash. Cash came to the shelter through animal control with his brother. His housing before the shelter they were outside dogs, but here at the shelter they have been clean and tidy in their kennels. Cash has a gimpy leg and it looks to be a old injury. It does not stop him from walking or running. We have found he does not do good with feeding in close proximity with another dog, even his brother, but with time this could become better. Long walks or fenced in back yard is always the best environment for dogs, but exercise is the main goal. We can test our dogs with other dogs at the shelter, but not every dog may get along with your dog this is why if you do have a pet at home we strongly suggest meet and greets before adopting. When adopting an animal at the shelter please know the responsibility of an animal. Most of the animals at the shelter have come in as a stray which mean they may not know how to sit or stay. They also might not have manners such as not to jump. Adopting takes patience. Please research the dog breed you are interested in and remember it takes time. Refer to the sheltering 3/3/3 rule of adopting for help.

These puppies were born Oct 20, 2023. They were the result of an unspayed female with an unnuetered male. The owners did not want the litter but did not get the parents fixed so created more unwanted homeless puppies. Will you be their forever home? the males are neutered but the females have not been yet due to a waiting list at the vets to be spayed. (males are easier and quicker to get neutered and didn't have to wait so long). Fees for females is $175. Males $275. UTD on vaccines and deworming. Started on Heartworm preventative. Can be microchipped for an additional $25. family raised and very friendly/happy pups. Mom is a pocket pit and dad a rottweiler. Pictures of parents are available upon request.

Story
Volunteer Michelle and Carl had this to say about Wendy"Wendy seems very gentle. She stopped to cool her paws in the pool after enjoying some treats and relieving herself. We went for a short walk and Wendy was very calm. Did not pull much at all on the leash. She took her treats nicely and chewed before Swallowing. Wendy is a sweet, nice girl."Wendy is a project dog at the shelter which basically means she is working with a kennel member to become more adoptable, get out of the shelter more for walks, and spend more quality time with people. She has been good with kids she has been around. She pulls on the leash, but shelter staff is working with her on this. She is a great candidate for a doggy day out or doggy weekend get away so she can learn to be in a home setting better. She is very treat motivated. She knows how to sit. She will come to her name and she knows how to give paw. Wendy enjoys doing her own things but she will show you lots of attention if you have treats with wide eyes. We have found that Wendy is ok with other dogs but selective with who she likes. She does not like a dog to hyper who jumps on her, she would rather just be in the presence of another dog. She is defiantly a couch potato type who loves laying around and very much so enjoys lots and lots of treats. She is current on vaccines, microchips, spayed and heartworm negative.

Story
This is Chisel. Chisel came into the shelter as a stray. He was injured and a little malnourished. After some time, food and care he has filled out and is working on becoming more and more adoptable. He has a handler that works with him each week making him more adoptable. We do not know his background, but while here his handler has been working with him on commands. We have been working with him on his jumping since when he gets excited he does jump some but he is doing better. He is very treat motivated and we can tell him down or sit and he has learned to not jump because he will get treats. Chisel still has some work to be done, but he has the potential to be a great pet. We have dog tested him and he did ok with male dogs, but can be dominate. We recently took him out with one of our dogs named Wigs and they did great together playing. We think he may be better with female dogs, but we strongly suggest meet and greets at the shelter so you can know for sure if your pets will get along. Chisel has come a long way and taken great strides to becoming a very well trained dog. He has been worked with a lot and has become very social.

Story
This is Nylah. She is a big lovable girl. She came into the shelter as a owner surrender after her previous owner was having some health issues and could not take care of her anymore. At her previous owners home she was not housed with another animal. She was adopted out recently and she did not do well with the smaller dog that was with her. We have taken her to events before and walked her around with other animals her size and she communicated with them and done well, but we are not sure about every animal she encounters. We believe she may have a prey drive with animals smaller with her and selective with which animals she likes. She is a dominate big girl. We suggest a meet and greet if you are interested in her with a slow introduction. She is housetrained and up to date on shots.Long walks or fenced in back yard is always the best environment for dogs, but exercise is the main goal. We can test our dogs with other dogs at the shelter, but not every dog may get along with your dog this is why if you do have a pet at home we strongly suggest meet and greets before adopting.
