Story
Bulma is a 3 year old, 70 lb American Bulldog. She is a super happy, very friendly dog. When their mom became too ill to continue to care for Bulma and her brother, she, regrettably, surrendered them to rescue. Bulma is affectionate and energetic. Her foster recommends she be placed in a home where she can get plenty of exercise. Her original human reported that she also had a cat that frequently spent time with the dogs in their yard. Bulma hasn’t been tested with children but we have no reason to think she would be anything other than her sweet, friendly self. She might be a little much for very small children, since she is not bashful about showing love (just like every other Bulldog we’ve ever met). She needs some training to learn her doggy manners and she is very eager to please. She will be tons of fun, laughs, and kisses on day one! FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. The adoption fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea/Tick/Heartworm Prevention, and Sheltering. Story
Pax came to us from a multiple-dog family, so he is good with other dogs. He's also great with the children in his foster home. He's looking for a forever home . . . how about yours? He is food motivated and an enthusiastic student when training. He rides comfortably in a car, is house trained, crate trained and leash trained. He has been surrounded by a loving foster family but his public exposure has been limited. Obedience classes would be great once he's comfortable in a new environment. They would reinforce the training he's had, and would widen his world, showing him unknown humans are a source of positive attention and rewards. FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. The adoption fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea/Tick/Heartworm Prevention, and Sheltering. Adult Dogs are Heartworm Tested and Treated as Needed. FOCCAS does not DNA test or guarantee breed. My adoption fee (if picked up locally in Crossville, Tennessee) is $225. If transport is needed, my adoption fee is $525 (out of state, East Coast, Great Lakes or New England regions). Thank You for Your Interest in Adopting a Canine Companion from Foccas-tn.org! Story
We are fostering Willow who is a 2 yr old American bulldog, Boxer mix. She is crate trained and potty trained. Has a lot of energy and is learning simple commands and not to jump. She is great with adults and loves to be with that person all the time. Requires a fenced in yard to run, a home with no other pets until she learns to be less aggressive. Small children are fearful of her size. She is sassy and will vocalize to you when you talk to her. Loves to be cuddled and enjoys petting. She is 65 pounds and will need someone familiar with American bulldog breed. Cannot continue to foster as she doesn’t like my two dogs and cats. Walks with leash, but is learning not to lunge or jump.

Story
Almost Home believes that every animal deserves a loving home regardless of appearance, age, or physical limitation.  We have come together to give animals in need the safe and happy life they all deserve.  Almost Home Animal Rescue believes that no animal is expendable.  Adopting a friend:The animals, lucky enough to find refuge with Almost Home, are all in loving foster homes. If you are interested in the possibility of giving one of the animals a new lease on life, please contact us. The contact information is listed at the end of each biography.  What you need to do to adopt:If you would like to adopt a pet in need from Almost Home, basically, an application must be filled out. We will check two personal references and a vet reference. If you are approved for adoption, there is a trial period of about one week to make sure this is the animal for you and you are the person for the animal. Along with the trial period, a contract must be signed that basically states that if ever you cannot keep the animal that you must return the animal to Almost Home. Last but not least, a home check will be done. Meet & Greets:An approved application is required. This does not mean that you have to adopt but that you are approved to do so if everything works out. Since we are foster based, this limits the amount of people coming to our homes.  *Due to rescuer being very ill, all her dogs are in desperate need!!!   Meatball puts the M in front of HUNK! This big ball of bulldog love is ready to plow right into your couch (and your heart). Meatball loves to flop around in the water and bask in the morning sun. He sticks to his routine and struts his stuff on the way out the door with more personality than you’ve seen in most people! Meatball found himself in a new exciting place when his owner needed a dog sitter while going out of town but he loved watching the pigs and splashing in the puddles at the ranch so much he couldn’t be convinced to leave! He loves everybody but does enjoy leaning on and hugging his pals, so he would do best in a home that doesn’t have small children or older family members. Meatball is just an all around happy guy that is searching for his forever. A good balance between quiet couch potato-ing and long walks with a harness and some guidance (or anything to splash around in) is all you need to keep this Meatball happy! *Guest Posting If you would like to meet your new best friend, contact the Adoption Coordinator at info@almosthometn.org or 865-236-0830. To fill out an application, go to www.almosthometn.org. If you can't get it to work, let us know and we will send it to you in a different format. Adoption fee $150.ADOPTION FEE: The adoption fee for a cat is $85. The adoption fee for a kitten is $100. The adoption fee does include the kittens being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. The adoption fee for a dog is $200. The adoption fee for a puppy is $250. The adoption fee does include the puppies being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. Mature pet adoption fees are sometimes reduced. The adoption fee for pure bred dogs and cats will vary due to health and age of pet. This helps support our ill animals and our mutts that get left in the system longer. We do reserve the right to change the fees higher or lower due to the circumstance of the animal but what was stated above are the usual adoption fees.  Microchipped pets will have a higher adoption fee.  Our adoption fees do not cover the cost of the vetting and care the animal has received with us and if it ever does, the money just goes back it to helping other animals in need. November 1, 2024, 8:13 pm

Since we are foster based, this limits the amount of people coming to our homes.  Hi there… I’m Duchess. And I’ve got a story to tell you. One I hope ends with you. You see, not too long ago, I didn’t even have a name. I was just another face in an overcrowded shelter, a place so full that hope had to squeeze in the corners just to breathe. I did my best to be brave, but day after day the noise, the cold floors, and the sadness started to chip away at me. I stopped eating. I stopped wagging. I stopped believing. But then she walked in. A kind lady. She didn’t look past me like the others. She saw how broken I felt and said softly, “You’re coming home with me.” And just like that… the world changed. Oh, what a difference love makes! I remembered how to smile, how to run, how to live. My coat shines now, my tail is always wagging, and my heart? It’s finally full… well, almost. You see, I’ve discovered how much I love people. I want my very own person—my own family—to cuddle with, to protect, to adore. I’m about four or five years old, with a beautiful mix of mystery and charm. I’ve become besties with the tiniest Chihuahua you’ve ever seen (don’t let her size fool you, she’s got sass!). My foster family think I will do well with cats to because of how well and how much I love the Chihuahua. And there’s a big ol’ male dog here too—I let him think he’s in charge, but we both know who runs the show. (Hi, it’s me. Duchess.) I’d love a fenced-in yard to zoom around in and a family who enjoys being active, just like I do. I can sit like a lady and give you my paw—I mean, come on, how do you resist that? I’m crate trained, but honestly, I’m such a good girl I don’t need one. I’ll just curl up by your feet or stretch out like royalty on a comfy bed. Also... I might be the world’s most talented beggar. One tilt of my head, a soft nudge of my paw, and suddenly you’re handing me snacks you swore you wouldn’t share. I can’t help it. It’s the eyes. So here I am—flourished, hopeful, and more than ready. I’ve survived the worst and bloomed into something beautiful. All I need now... is you. Will you be my forever? With all my love and paw-sitivity,Duchess *Guest Posting* If you would like to meet your new best friend, contact the Adoption Coordinator at info@almosthometn.org.
