Story
SPENCER is a young male Cocker Spaniel Freedom Flyer from S Korea who arrived in Los Angeles on 3/11/25 - joining Camp Cocker to find his new home! Spencer is estimated* to be about 4-5 years old, and is a larger Cocker at 33 pounds. Spencer was rescued from the Busan puppy mill shut down in October - by our amazing rescue partners, Cocker Friends Korea (FKA the Cocker Moms). The cruel, filthy living conditions were similar to how a typical American puppy mill is run, truly heartbreaking! Over 600 dogs and multiple Korean rescue organizations showed up to work around the clock for 48 hours until every dog was removed to safety. >> Please visit Spencer's webpage at www.campcocker.com/spencer for emerging details - and a link to apply for Spencer today! Adopting a American Cocker Spaniel

Frequently asked questions about acquiring an American Cocker Spaniel - the pros and cons of adopting versus going through a breeder, and associated costs.

You can adopt an American Cocker Spaniel at a much lower cost than buying one from a breeder. The cost of adopting an American Cocker Spaniel from a shelter is typically $50 to $300, while smaller rescues may charge higher fees. The adoption fee may include an initial exam, preventatives, vaccines, microchipping, and spay/neuter.

Buying an American Cocker Spaniel from a breeder, conversely, can be prohibitively expensive. Depending on their breeding, an American Cocker Spaniel can cost $1,000 to $2,000.

The easiest way to adopt an American Cocker Spaniel is through a rescue that specializes in American Cocker Spaniels or through searching shelters. A great place to start is with a breed search on Adopt a Pet, which will show you all the available American Cocker Spaniels in your search radius.
